Hobby store recommendation Portland OR, Salem OR27 Jan 2007 05:11 GMT6
Anyone have a hobby store they can recommend in the Portland, Oregon, or
Salem, Oregon area? I've been to several, and haven't really found one I
like. There used to be a big one at Jantzen Beach, but they seem to have
gone out of business. There are several hole in the wall ...
Old Sanwa receiver26 Jan 2007 09:01 GMT3
I came in a slightly complicated situation when I had to fix an old RC car
recently. The old setup consists of old Sanwa servos and receiver. One servo
(and now also the other) broke and I replaced it with a new Futaba. To get
this to work in the system I had to switch the ...
glow engine to electric motor comparisons26 Jan 2007 03:16 GMT44
Ive been modelling for years and used to work for a model engineering
company. I say this to show that I can model, but what I would like to
know most of all is what size electric motors replace what glow
engines?
Electric recommendations26 Jan 2007 01:57 GMT11
I haven't been involved in the hobby for a few years now but I've held
on to my AMA license in hopes to get back. What I'm interested in, is
opinions on what would be a good electric RC airplane to keep around
(and would fit easily in my Wrangler) that I could keep my "edge" with ...

Just wondering.

I just picked up an MAX-SI,OS,35. Is this a good engine? I got it cheap, and
don't really know much about it - hmm..now I have to build an airplane for
this engine :P. I have a set of Nobler plans, I'm thinking of building that.
Looking for a Strap-On Muffler for my Enya .1924 Jan 2007 21:00 GMT3
Good Evening.  I recently purchased an Enya .19 V engine at a swap
meet.  The engine didn't come with a muffler.  There are no bolt flanges
for a muffler, so the engine will require a strap-on type muffler.  I
checked both Enya's (MRC) and Tower's web sites, as well as my LHS, ...
brushless motor power supply23 Jan 2007 21:17 GMT5
Is there any way to drive a brushless motor (AC power supply) other than
spending a load of money on a ESC?  easy with DC but AC is another k.o.f
altogether,
                            regards,            Terry
Vacuum bagging supplier in the UK23 Jan 2007 12:19 GMT3
Does anyone know a UK supplier of vacuum bagging equipment suitable for bagging
foam wings and including pump, peel ply etc etc ?  I am looking for a turnkey
system as opposed to trying to cobble my own together from bits.
Thanks,

I have a teedee 049 and an 051, on a smaller plane (22" wingspan, 110 sq
in). I have in my collection several propellers that I acquired about 10
years ago, and they have not been used. 6x4, 6x3, 5.5x4, 5x4, 5.3. Any
recommendations as to which one would work best?
2 newbie questions22 Jan 2007 04:55 GMT3
I am thinking of building an air boat for a .40 engine.  I will be using
a door skin that I have laying around for both the frames and decking.
It has a nice grain, so I thought of staining and clear resin coating
it.  I want to do the staining before gluing, as glued areas may ...
Synthetic Nitro Fuel Lube21 Jan 2007 19:55 GMT12
I have some commercial 15%/15% nitro/lube glo fuel.  I want to add some
synthetic oil to boost the lube up to 20% content by volume.  I tried to mix
a small amount of Klotz R/C Model Lube for gas with a small amount of glow
fuel.  They appeared to not mix well.  My question is ...
