Would you allow people to fly your plane remotely via a web service for a fee?09 Jun 2007 09:43 GMT50
I've been thinking of a web 2.0 startup that would pair up people with
model airplanes with people who would like to fly them remotely via
the web from the comfort of their homes.
A video camera would transmit live video from the plane and/or the
Found airplane08 Jun 2007 21:30 GMT15
I was out geocaching and came across a crashed airplane. It's nothing
fancy I don't think. (Compared to some I see on here) It has over a 6'
wingspan and the nose is busted off but still attached with wires.
I don't know a thing about this hobby and was wondering if there is a
Q: How solid does a wing need to be?08 Jun 2007 08:42 GMT18
Just a question out of curiosity: How do you determine how much force a
wing needs to be able to withstand? I'd imagine it's some function of
the planes weight vs. angular displacement capability or somesuch? I've
googled around for any info but pretty much came up with nothing ...
Q: Position of landing gear?08 Jun 2007 02:28 GMT14
Hello again :)
Typically I use the landing gear so it's almost where the CoG is, with a
front wheel setup. I've had a few issues with it in general, mainly that
the airplane is much too light to flare it much for landing - it stalls
Jack Stafford Comanche07 Jun 2007 20:30 GMT2
I'm looking for a Jack Stafford Comanche single.  Stafford Models is
out of business, so no joy there.  I have searched on the web and
found reference to kits that were sold in the last few months, but
have not had any luck finding a kit.  Any help finding one would be
WWI Comic German Pilot07 Jun 2007 10:46 GMT2
I have just finished a GP Big Stik 40.  I have converted it to a taildragger
and would like to rig it up to look like a comical eindecker.
A few years back I remember there used to be a model pilot figure depicting
a comical WWI german pilot complete with spiked helmet.
Should it have broke?06 Jun 2007 22:07 GMT12
For years i've wanted an rc aircraft of some description and finally after
much discussion with my local model shop purchased a Ripmax Serenity
electric powered glider. It comes artf with a plastic body with engine and
mechanics already installed. The wings are made of a ...

Great Planes "Reflection"05 Jun 2007 00:05 GMT3
Anyone out there built a reflection and flown it?
I bought the kit and tried to assemble. Every last one of the plastic
clips snapped when I was trying to install them onto the carbon fiber
rods. So I called Great Planes and I was told this was a 'reported

How to extend the needle valve02 Jun 2007 22:41 GMT11
I have a thunder Tiger Pro .25 engine that is in a coweled P47-thunderbolt.
Can anyone give me some pointers on howto extend the needle valve by round 2
inches so that I can adjust it with the cowl on. I have seen many
suggestions on the net that I cut a slot in the top of the ...
Pipsqueak01 Jun 2007 16:12 GMT1
I flew my new Pipsqueak this evening.  I built it from RCM plans and
powered it with an 020 that came from a Cox Sky Copter.  I built my
first Pipsqueak a couple of years ago with a Pee Wee 020, which was the
perfect engine for it, but it gave me only a couple of minutes of ...
.049 head gasket question01 Jun 2007 06:13 GMT9
Is there a limit to how many times you can remove/reinstall the glowplug
off of an .049 engine? I have an engine that I can't get to peak out at
max rpm, and one of the areas I'm suspicious of the glowplug/head gasket
seal.
