Building The AMA SUT Part 1030 Aug 2007 20:25 GMT1
Part 10
OK, its almost done. The engines have been broken in, its been
balanced (oddly enough, it balanced perfectly, didn't have to add  any
weight, who would of thunk it?) and finally got thru to Futaba and
noob Q: does torque make aircraft bank more readily one way vs. another?30 Aug 2007 14:50 GMT15
my left turns are good.  smooth.  well coordinated.

does the torque from the prop have anything to do with this?  or do i
HELP:  Newbee to Flying RC Aircraft...30 Aug 2007 10:48 GMT8
I'm new to flying RC Aircraft, and recently purchased an electric
"crash proof" trainer to get started.  I'm glad that it's crash
proof...it's needing this ability.  I don't know all the names of the
controls, but I'll try to explain the problem as best I can.

Part 9
You now can join the wing halves. I discarded the plywood formers that
came with the kit and used ¼ inch aircraft ply. Much stronger. After
the epoxy has cured, mount the engines and hook up the throttle
Tygon Tube Horror27 Aug 2007 16:18 GMT1
I have a length of tygon tube (petrol/diesel) that has gone all slimy,
almost as if it has been covered with oil. A bit of brass tube stuck in one
end has gone green where it is in contact with the tube. The tube has never
been used for anything and is about 2 years old.

Very OT..........26 Aug 2007 19:05 GMT5
OK - I am a modeller, but I'm trying to trace a copy of the sarcastic poem
which starts out:
"I'm the last man left in the air force, I've an office in MOD"
I figure someone here may know it!

Horizon P-47  foamie25 Aug 2007 19:53 GMT1
Dont buy it unless you are prepared to throw the brushed motor away
and sink some money into
a 200 watt brushless outrunner, 2000mah 3 cell battery , and a 25 amp
controller. That plus a wad of clay in the nose is what it took to

Crimp connectors for electric flight24 Aug 2007 06:02 GMT17
Are there standard crimp connectors for electric flight?
A friend uses 10Amp car connectors - but I have found them difficult to
get.
Halfords have 5 Amp and 15 Amp - but not 10 Amp.
static thrust22 Aug 2007 20:07 GMT5
I made a crude setup to measure prop thrust on my electric mini edge
540. I used a digital scale connected to a laptop. Good accruacy.
I measured 2 pounds of thrust in still air . I decided to see what
would happen to the thrust value if I directed a large fan on the prop
