Any Diesel Engine Experts?30 Jun 2008 02:07 GMT1
I just got a Cox 049 with a Davis Diesel head running.  It runs a bit
inconsistently; I'm still trying to sort out the best tuning that'll
give me a good flight.  It tunes well on the ground, but in the air it
definitely unloads and starts to 'cackle' like it's under-compressed,
Test, yeah, I know30 Jun 2008 01:02 GMT4
Test and all like that. Damned TimeWarner.

I have a fairly new (less than a year old) OS .61FX mounted upright in
Twist 3D 60 with a 13x6 prop.  The engine has been properly broke in an

I'm having a problem that I'm not sure how to solve.

CAD programs28 Jun 2008 05:03 GMT20
I've been looking for a CAD program for creating model plans.  I
downloaded a few free ones to see which features I like and which ones I
don't like.  I've noticed that circle, arc and ellipse are very common
features, but I haven't seen a program yet that will do the complex

What is the proper procedure for starting from cold a Satio 91 engine.
Before break in it says to prime 5 to 6 turns on the prop while covering the
exaust.
My engine is broken in ,but it does not always start easily.(But it runs
1948 Al Williams Gulfhawk Racer26 Jun 2008 04:06 GMT2
Any of you ever built control line models carved from balsa blocks? I
have some plans for the plane from the 1948 MI mag.
Thanks, Ted.
Real Flight G424 Jun 2008 04:57 GMT2
I just installed G4 on my new Dell computer (Quad Core 2.5 GHz) with a 22"
Acer flat screen monitor. I am impressed.
The widescreen monitor has made all of the difference in the world when it
comes to flying comfortably on a small screen. I like it.

Power supply conversion21 Jun 2008 04:40 GMT6
I bought 10 AT style computer power supplies.  I have
converted two into a modeling power supply that provides
both 5 and 12 volts.  They run my charger and
receivers/servos, but not my foam cutting hot wire.  I want

Elec. motor speed controller question18 Jun 2008 16:31 GMT2
I have a P-47 control line plan (from a 1947 MI mag.), and would like to
use an elec. motor instead of gas. Would a speed controller be required
here? Thanks, Ted.
Engine - Prop Combo...18 Jun 2008 03:23 GMT12
Still working on a Senior Telemaster, and am planning on using an
OS-61 for power.  After getting the wing mounted on the fuze, I'm
wondering if a .61 is big enough?  Anyway, my question is how big a
prop can I use.  Prior plane was a 60 size trainer, and I used a 12x6
