AMA Nationwide Membership Drive 2009
Goal: To utilize/involve the Academy’s largest outreach component—the
membership—to recruit new members for the AMA so more people can
participate in the fun of flying model airplanes.
Water-Based Paint and Flat Sheet20 Mar 2009 12:22 GMT2
I've got some Nelson's water based paint that I used on a
polyspan-covered model a few years ago.  It worked great, and I'll use
it again.
But the next project is an all-sheet C/L model (like this one,

Going to Toledo?  Watch for this neat book on CD

AMA Support- PHOOEY19 Mar 2009 12:38 GMT5
I have been in the AMA since the 50's and have always supported the
organization but never became involved in the politics. Oh, there was
a little fracas that occurred in Kerrville, Texas about tem years ago,
but bygones are bygones. I have had two very unpleaseant experiences
Lipo batter y help19 Mar 2009 06:18 GMT10
I'm putting together a Hanger 9 Ultra Stick 25e with Horizons recommended
"high power outrunner" setup. I'm using their Eflite Power 32 Outrunner and
the Eflite 60 Amp Pro Switch-Mode BEC Brushless ESC. Recommended prop size
is 11x7. The recommended battery is a 4200mah 2S2P 7.4V ...
WTB: Full-size plans for Dave Robelin's Square Shooter17 Mar 2009 20:53 GMT9
I started one of these when I was 16, some 40 years ago. It was
featured in MAN in April, 1969.   I never finished it, and of course,
have long since lost the plans.
If I could purchase a copy, I would be most grateful.
Who does repair for Kraft control systems?17 Mar 2009 05:08 GMT1
I've got an old Kraft set that I had gold-stickered about 15 years
ago, which was working fine when I last used it about 7 years ago.
I'd like to put the system back in service, but would like someone to
give it an electronic tune-up first.

Real Flight G413 Mar 2009 21:58 GMT3
I just installed G4 on my new Dell computer (Quad Core 2.5 GHz) with a 22"
Acer flat screen monitor. I am impressed.
The widescreen monitor has made all of the difference in the world when it
comes to flying comfortably on a small screen. I like it.
Onboard cameras, what frequency?11 Mar 2009 11:50 GMT10
I'm interested in using a video camera on RC models and am wondering what is
the best frequency to get.  The best bargain I found so far is on a 2.4Ghz
system but I'm not sure if it will interfere with 2.4Ghz transmitter and
receivers that are becoming popular, also I plan to use ...

Potentiometer Elements09 Mar 2009 06:29 GMT27
No picture yet, but:
Deep in the heart of every RC servo there's a pot, and it comes in three
pieces -- the rotor is attached to the output shaft, the element is on a
little puck with three wires soldered onto it, and the whole thing is
Battery Types and their Limitations. Questions?07 Mar 2009 21:28 GMT25
Because of my job, my rc plane hobby was put on hold for about 5 years. Now,
I found that I am able to rejuvinate my Ni-Cd batteries but the nickel metal
hydride batteries seemed beyond repair. I invested quite a bit in these Ni-H
batteries and now they appear useless.

The above site keyed my interest in making copies of cowls and such.  Years
ago I made a female mold for a Chipmunk cowl out of fiber glass (loose
fibers) and polyurethane resin.  This was a VERY messy and labor intensive
original Bridi Kaos wing rib outlines wanted06 Mar 2009 17:28 GMT13
I ran a across a set of kit plans from my old deceased Bridi Kaos - the
original 59" version. They have everything on them to build one except the
wing rib outlines. If anyone has a set of drawings, tracings, outlines for
the wing ribs I would be most appreciative. Visions of ...
