| Took the Nobler to the Field Today | 28 Sep 2009 04:45 GMT | 6 |
Not to fly it -- it's still nekkid (and I still haven't decided on silkspan or plastic covering). Rather to show it off, since all the woodwork is done with the exception of carving the cowl. But it _did_ crash! An acorn fell out of a tree (a long way) and put a

Greetings-If this plane is a candidate for Electric Power, can someone suggest a motor and battery system ? This stick- tissue model has a 51 inch W.S (by 6- 1/2 in.), a 21 in. stab ( by 4 -1/2 in.), a 30 " long (1-1/2 by 5/8 ) box section fuse, and a

I got the vertical stab done today, just in time to mount on the fuselage (it would have made more sense to built it along with the horizontal stab/ elevator and set it aside, but the instructions said...). It looks good, in spite of some crappy die cutting.

| Taking a chance on the VMar Apache III | 21 Sep 2009 06:31 GMT | 3 |
I recently decided to get another new trainer airplane expressly for training students at the club. I have a wonderful Goldberg Protege .60 ARF that survived a scare earlier this summer; I let a student pilot who was close to soloing go a little too long with the Protege before I ...

| Great Palnes Electra Conversion | 14 Sep 2009 07:10 GMT | 4 |
I have come across an old GP Electra Glider kit. As you know it is pre- li-poly model and uses an old electric motor with a seven cell ni-cad. Can someone give me advice on what to replace the motor and battery with, plus anything else?

I hate kits. I have some flat spots on the turtle deck of the Nobler, in the "precision formed" balsa top deck attached to the "precision die cut" formers.

| e-flite blade mSR is Fabulous! | 05 Sep 2009 19:49 GMT | 2 |
After practice with the e-flite mCX, and some sim hover practice (I use RealFlight G4 and fly the Dominion 3D 90) this little bird is the best possible next step in acquiring helicopter flying skill.

| Dumb Insight for the Day | 03 Sep 2009 21:48 GMT | 28 |
Maple is hard. I'm putting together my first plane with maple motor mounts (my much- denigrated Top Flight Nobler kit, which I bought about five years before they went belly up the first time). I needed to shorten one up by
