Lift of an airfoil29 Jan 2010 16:35 GMT22
I visited the NASA visitors center in Cleveland the other day.  Really
an interesting display.  One display that caught my eye was a small
wind tunnel with an airfoil in it.
The observation chamber was plastic so you could see what was going on

Country Member23 Jan 2010 09:50 GMT2
I have just renewed my BMFA membership myself, and I am now a country member
rather than the member via a club.
What is the difference if any between the 2 different types of membership?
Webra 1.20 Carb Problem.23 Jan 2010 04:30 GMT6
I inherited a fully built Sig 4 Star with a Webra 1.2 on it. On its
initial flight I had a dead stick and brought it in with no problem as
4 star floats on air. The high speed needle valve assembly had come
out of the carb. Several of us looked at it and altho we could insert
Electric to electric conversion.22 Jan 2010 04:46 GMT10
I have an old GP Spectra glider that runs on a seven cell NiMH 8.4
volt pack. The motor is a GP GoldFire 550 that is brushed. I am
looking for the most inexpensive way to convert to an equivalent motor
that runs off a LiPo  3S 2200 MAH rated at 15C. I don't know much

simple like turn the pot on the servo driver and the motor starts
UPS idiocy17 Jan 2010 04:34 GMT11
So I ordered a 3 channel powered glider from Nitromodels. I got shipment
notification the next day. UPS picks it up in Baldwin Park California,
drives it north on I-5 all the way to Portland Oregon, then south to
Roseburg Oregon. It was supposed to be delivered today. Instead ...
What Is This Muffler15 Jan 2010 05:55 GMT9
Just won a K&B 40 at last night's club raffle.  It's previously owned
(the guy who donated it received it from someone who was not the original
owner).  It came to me with an Irvine two-needle carb and this odd
looking muffler.  I'm wondering about the muffler.
Glow engine bearings14 Jan 2010 21:08 GMT6
My OS 1.08 FSR needs new bearings. Can I go the local hardware shop
and buy ordinary ball bearings of the correct size, or does a glow
engine need something special?

Has anyone tried "Rapicon" glow fuel?07 Jan 2010 23:19 GMT2
I live 25 miles from the nearest LHS, which sells only Morgan Cool Power
and/or and Omega (very limited -if any- choice of nitro content) glow fuels
at high prices.
I recently saw an advertisement for an imported product available via mail

Don't forget to come to the flying field at the fairgrounds for our
annual Jan. 1 fun fly. Rain, sleet, sunshine or snow if we can get there.
There will be coffee and a pot of chili. Bring what you want to cook
over an open fire; hot dogs, etc.
