How do they do that?11 Jul 2003 19:38 GMT7
I saw something the other day that amazed me quite frankly.  I saw a bloke
do several auto rotation landings with a Raptor 60 - not truly remarkable I
hear you say.  No, it was just one of these that amazed me and I wondered
how he did it and I did not get the chance to ask him.
Setting up OS 50SXH11 Jul 2003 12:18 GMT1
Just taken delivery of my new OS 50 for the R50 combo. and have a few Qs.
1.  Is it still de rigeur to bung a bit of wood into the carb throat to help
lock the engine for tightening the clutch?
2. Is it advisable to ditch the supplied fan and buy the metal upgrade that
Futaba GV-1 in Concept 3011 Jul 2003 11:01 GMT2
Well, I purchased a GV-1 form my Concept 30 SRX ($125 NIB from eBay) and am
trying to mount it. However, it is being difficult. Since the fan is not
butted to the engine, I cannot use the mounts that came with it. Instead, I
am fabricating a mount to the frame, but that is leaving a ...

How to remove carbon deposits?11 Jul 2003 00:16 GMT3
I have (had!) a one piece Weston pipe on my Concept VR which gave good
service until recently due to increasing back pressure caused by the
internals coking up.
I use a semi-synthetic fuel containing 9% castor (I know, use fully

Are there stiffer rubber parts for the GPH/Sceadu main head?
Would like to firm it up a bit for more maneuverability (flips etc.)

What Servos for R50?09 Jul 2003 21:39 GMT2
Guys, just starting to search out the servos for my R50/ OS 50SX H combo.  I
see that JR8231 / 8411s would do the job, maybe a NES8700G on the tail.
Presumably Futaba equivalents too.  BUT...are they really necessary for me,
a club hack whos not been flying that long and is, in ...
Uniflow Fuel Setup.09 Jul 2003 20:16 GMT6
I've been thinking about trying the Uniflow fuel setup in my Sceadu. I was
wondering if their are many flyer's here that use it? Is it reliable?
Thanks

Anyone tried Reflex Sim?09 Jul 2003 01:39 GMT8
...if so, how does it compare with csm V10? I hear that csm is about as
close as it gets, physics wise, but the 'cga' style graphics put me off a
little.
The reflex demo looks very nice and it 'appears' (as much as you can tell

"Nose in" hover question08 Jul 2003 23:43 GMT5
What's the best way to learn "nose in" aside from SIM time. Should one try
hovering whilst tail in and then slowly turn the heli trying to keep the
thing in one piece until you're nose in? OR should one take off while
already nose in and just try and keep it there. OR........ ...
I'm still wondering about fuel (silly me).08 Jul 2003 20:46 GMT13
Ok. So my TT50H manual says:
Use fuel containing 25% lubricant during break-in.
And at least 20% lubricant for further use.
Now, ModelTechnics has a Helimix available at my LHS.
Theft from North East, UK08 Jul 2003 13:45 GMT3
I am passing on this notice for and on behalf of Mr David Sumner. As
some of you may know, Dave is a member of the North East Helicopter
club and a very good pilot. His father is the "mechanic" (aren't we
all?) and Dave flew superbly the aircraft prepared for him. However i
