Wow! Is anybody watching Great Escapes on ITV? There's just been this helicopter crash and I'm sure it's another one of those deadly 'mini-500s'. Come guys.. how's my heli-knowledge? Was it a mini-500? ;-)

| A little advice please | 29 Sep 2003 19:38 GMT | 3 |
I'm sorry, I'm sure you get requests like this all the time, but as a new starter could anyone please advise me as to the relative merits of the Raptor and Shuttle. I had decided to plump for a Raptor 30 but the guy in the shop recommends a Shuttle instead. I did note that,

Question...do most people carry their helis with the blades attached and in foam supports or do you take them off and carry them seperately for some reason? Talking 50 sized, glass blades.

| Raptor 60 Assembly? | 28 Sep 2003 20:08 GMT | 2 |
Anyone round here had a problem with the 60 V2 main shaft install? The locking collar in the kit appears to fit to the shaft via two M3x6 bolts that screw into threaded holes in the shaft. This of course means there is NO thread in the collar its self.

| learning helis question | 28 Sep 2003 16:25 GMT | 7 |
I have a question. I've taught myself to hover tail in and right or left side and can do that competently and consistently. I feel like if I just go for it I can fly this thing but I'm not sure of the outcome, so to speak. How do i teach myself to transition into forward flight. ...

| Raptor 30 Main Blades | 28 Sep 2003 12:35 GMT | 6 |
Just a quick one. Am currently assembling my new Raptor and was just about to do the blade Mod and noticed that the covering material moves or wrinkles pretty easily. Can only imaging what this material does under flight conditions :-(

| Crossed the line! | 28 Sep 2003 11:05 GMT | 2 |
Well, me X-Cell 'kissed' mother earth again last weekend, repair cost totted up to around 200 quid. So after a week of sulking around the wife took a trip to the LHS yesterday. Bless her, she came back with a brand new Raptor 60:o)

I installed a new Futaba GV-1 governor in my basic, but trusty old Shuttle ZX and flew it yesterday. I can't believe what an improvement it made! About a year ago I scared the heck out of myself

| Free at Last!! | 27 Sep 2003 23:32 GMT | 1 |
Thanks to a correspondence course in engine tuning from Beavis, my Rappy has finally shed it's gold hula-hoop and flown like Mr Shigetada Taya intended. OK, I exaggerate a bit, but I HAVE got rid of the training gear and apart from a few heart stopping near "tip-overs", it's so far ...

| New Tail Blades Don't Fit??? | 26 Sep 2003 09:53 GMT | 1 |
I've just taken delivery of some 30 size (72mm) NHP tail rotor blades for my Shuttle. But they are about 25% too thick to fit in the blade grips. The model is about 4-5 yrs old, so is this one of those dimensions that gets changed on later models to gently encourage you to buy a new ...
