| GY401 gyro | 17 Jan 2004 05:31 GMT | 2 |
What do you all think of the GY401 gyro? I wasn't able to get my heli off the ground today because it seems my gyro went bad and is giving some bad signals to my tail servo. What are the ups and downs of the GY401? --

Just picked up a second hand heli from a respected shop on consignment. I'm tempted to take it back for set-up (not sure it's ever flown) but I don't want to waste $ or wear out my welcome. It's rolling left, pitching right, engine too rich @ low rpm, too lean @

| Nose in Hover | 16 Jan 2004 18:01 GMT | 3 |
Just mastered nose in hovering myself. Learning on a mini lama I was rock solid and instinctual (that is I can hover without "thinking about it" ) tail in, but found moving to nose in very difficult. In fact getting so very comfortable with tail in hovering before trying

| My Thoughts On 3D Flying | 16 Jan 2004 16:50 GMT | 11 |
I can really appreciate the skill and coordination required by those that fly 3D, how you guys that fly 3D remember where to push your sticks when the heli is thrashing about in various positions, amazes me.

Guys, just after a heads up before I buy... I am about to chuck a Rappy 50 together, with an OS 50. I'm thinking of using 9001s on cyclic, 9253 on tail and 9202 on collective. The 9001s work well on my Sceadu but that "only" got an os 46 in it. Reckon

| Control Rods | 15 Jan 2004 20:00 GMT | 5 |
A question.......If I set all the pairs of control rods accurately in length using a vernier to within +/-0.1mm, (0.004 of an inch for the older ones amongst you, like Kev), of each other will this ensure even flight with no trim, or would I still have to take it to the field a do ...

| After-run engine cleaning | 15 Jan 2004 19:58 GMT | 3 |
How do you guys normally clean your engine after running for the day? Back when I used to race boats it was normal practice to use some laquor thinner followed by trans fluid, spinning the engine between each step to work the fluids in (of course that was with highly

I'm wondering what servo's I should be using on my lenmount dauphin 1/7th scale. It has the Benzin Mechanics and a fenistron fan. Also I have bought the Vario blades but they dont seem long enough to give it a real scale look.

| Nose in hover | 15 Jan 2004 05:12 GMT | 1 |
Did my first nose-in hover today after much practicing on the hoverfly , plucked up enough courage to try it on the Raptor and it seemed a bit too easy! I thought nose-in was the hardest to master , but I have more trouble side
