What's in a gyro?31 Oct 2004 15:33 GMT6
I'm curious as to how a heli gyro works.  Has anyone taken one apart?
Several are referred to as peizo gyros.  What does the peizo do?
I know what the basic gyro theory is, but I'm more interested in the
actual construction and functioning.  Is it just a spinning gyro with

Suggestions for first helicopter?30 Oct 2004 20:34 GMT10
I'm new to the RC world. Only had an RC truck years ago from ToysR'Us.
I am interested in an indoor/outdoor (around my 1 acre yard)
helicopter probably electric (reduced noise). For a $500 budget,
what's the best choice (or choices) I have. Thanks a lot!

Uniflow and the Raptor 5028 Oct 2004 18:30 GMT3
Just "uniflowed" the Raptor 50 fuel system, and What a difference! A
constant run all the way through the tank, AND header tank, without any sign
of leaning out! Also managed to lean the OS out three more clicks and did
THAT relesase some power.........Most impressed.

the scene. I did have a fully loaded X-Cell Pro2k guided by a Futaba9Z w/c.
What is a good machine currently although i have ideas of my own but any
useful input would be welcome.
I have an rc-Airwolf ! ! !26 Oct 2004 14:14 GMT2
The Airwolf is fully equipped with deadly weapons and when the dogs of
my neighbour come into my garden, my Airwolf will scare them away !
An if burglars want to steal, my Airwolf will shoot rockets into their
butts!

Old Garmin 90...updates??25 Oct 2004 12:02 GMT1
I have an old (1995) Garmin 90 which I used to use in my aeroplane.  I had
an odd occurence of the unit dumping all of it's pre installed way points
(which H Mendelsshon thought I'd caused by meddling, which I didnt!!)
However, the plane has long gone and I'm doing more sailing ...

I've just purchased a Raptor 50 V2 with a Thunder Tiger Pro 50 Engine

Their seems to be a bewildering array of fuel available, with
different percentages of nitro.
