No more talking about it, I placed my order! I got the Traxxas Stampede with
ESC, the Piranha AC/DC digital peak charger, a couple of Epic 1500 packs,
and I figured I might as well try the Epic 3000 NIMH pack too. Got all this
with shipping for $255!
One more Newbie question:  Tools?31 Jan 2004 08:00 GMT9
First of all thanks for all the advice and helping me break into RC's.
Again, I just bought an RC10GT (so it was preassembled).  What tools
do I need to compile to work on the car.  I think I am going to go buy
a BIG tackle box to hold all the tools and spare parts.

My name is Jerry and I am writing from the frozen northern Wisconsin area, I

HPI Nitro RS4 3 Evo - Gearing Options29 Jan 2004 17:32 GMT2
Hey there,
I have a Nitro RS4 3 Evo.  This is my first Nitro car and my first RC car in
a long time.  I love the runtime compared to the electric cars I used to
run.  This thing gets a lot dirtier though.  I guess that's to be expected

Opinions on top end electric stadium trucks29 Jan 2004 15:13 GMT4
G'Day all,
After a heated discussion with the Mrs over 1:1 scale cars (I
currently have 4!) I've been "asked" to get rid of one car.
In the process of negotiations for sale of said vehicle, I got her to
JR Racing XR3 for Traxxas Emaxx29 Jan 2004 06:32 GMT2
I have the XR3 for my Emaxx, but I haven't found a way yet how to
engage first and alternatively 2nd gear to stay. Currently, I have to
push and hold the thumbswitch forward to keep first gear engaged, as
soon as I let go 2nd goes back in.

RC10 GT RTR or Traxxas Rustler RTR28 Jan 2004 22:00 GMT3
Okay, I know this has been hashed out every which way but...  I am
going to buy a RTR kit (either RC10GT or Rustler) this weekend and I
would love to final confirmation of which one to buy BEFORE I lay down
my 300+ dollars.  Simply put, what do you guys think....
So many engines...Which for TC3?28 Jan 2004 21:49 GMT1
Not sure Im ready for the expensive Nova Rossi-type, but with so many choices,
what are the popular, or "good" engines out there in the .12 .15 size?
I would like to upgrade the stock engine with something better/faster.
Recommendations?
Home made glow starter28 Jan 2004 19:17 GMT2
How does the Traxxas ez start fasten to the glow plug? I know that there's a
blue wire with some sort of bullet motor connector on it, and I think
there's a yellow wire in there too. What I need to know is how they stay
fastened to the glow plug, and what touches what for current ...
Tires for a Tamiya Hornet28 Jan 2004 10:22 GMT4
Looking for a good online source of tires for an old Tamiya Hornet (about
1991 or2).  All the hobby shops that I have talked to just roll their eyes
and say no can do.  Pretty lame.  The unit still runs fine, but it has been
badly beaten.
Electric vs. nitro run times27 Jan 2004 22:47 GMT4
I'm still stuck in the electric/nitro quandry for my first R/C car.  I
think I'd go electric except that most (maybe all?) club racers in my
area are nitro, so if I want to race, I have to go nitro.
I was wondering what's the real comparison of run times between the
Yokomo pocket rocket motor???27 Jan 2004 22:37 GMT5
Hello, I was into r/c hobbies many years ago and recently got back
into it.  I came across an old motor I have that I am assuming was
manufactured by Yokomo.  All it says is Yokomo MOD, and has a bright
pink sticker on it that says Pocket Rocket.  I am guessing it is from
