If I want to use the same radio in 2 cars with 2 difeerent recievers and 2 sets of matching crystals does the reciever have to be the exact same model that came with the radio or can it be different as long as the crystals are the same

I bough an Avante about 10 or more years ago and stop doing rc soon after. Right now I would like to restore it to have some fun with it (I found a dirt track not far from where I live). Nothing is broken at this time, just used tires at this point.
