Mirage Models 1/48 Los10 Apr 2004 04:05 GMT5
Just got one...cheap from an ebay seller...now what? How good or bad?
It looks good in the box at least, plus its an obscure, kinda cool subject

1/35 Turned metal barrels for tanks?09 Apr 2004 23:30 GMT10
The Tamiya late G model tank came with a screw and nut to hold the
turret elevation parts together.
that extra strength has never been needed before in any tank I have ever
built.
Was 1/32 Scale Pilots/Retraction09 Apr 2004 23:22 GMT3
Flog me. Tar and feather me. Mea culpa.
The pilots I used on my 1/32 Revel F-15E were absconded from two Hazes
F-16 with a tad of plastic surgery. No pun intended...heh.
U Boat Dio Ideas09 Apr 2004 23:07 GMT16
Okay, here are my ideas so far:
1. U boat refitting at sea from "trawler" type supply ship (requring
some open hatch conversions)
2. U boat filming survivors in life boats (easiest and one most likely
Rust streaks on U-boats... any suggestions?09 Apr 2004 18:45 GMT4
Need to do the rust streaks on my 1/72 U-boat. Anyone got any tips or tricks
on the best way to do these realistically? I mainly do 1/48 aircraft, which
tend to have panel lines and a few fluid leaks, so anything you armour,
railway or ship guys (and gals) can suggest is much ...
Ding Hao! and Big Beautiful Doll09 Apr 2004 18:03 GMT2
I've got the Academy 1/72 P-51B and, as usual, I'm not completely
satisfied with the choices available on the kit decal sheet (or any of
the aftermarked sheets I already have). Can anybody tell me where I can
find markings for Jim Howard's Mustang, "Ding Hao!"?
Looking for MPC 1/72 U-2 box-art scan09 Apr 2004 03:23 GMT1
I have a Seminar 1/72 U-2 in-progress build report on my modeling site
(see URL below). This kit has an interesting Airfix-MPC-Academy genesis,
and I would like to show all box arts on the page. I have found the Airfix
and Academy boxes, but I can't find the MPC. Is there someone ...
Paint going to dust09 Apr 2004 02:11 GMT16
A couple of the models that I built a few months back, are experiencing
their paint jobs turning into a powder.
The surfaces are enamel, either from Tamiya's or Humbrol's paint range, but
more so the Humbrols.
Hey, its my birthday - what should I buy?09 Apr 2004 00:29 GMT14
hit the big 45 today.
ordered the 1/32 Academy F-18 last nite and this morning at my desk at
work was the 1/72 U-Boat and four sets of Jaguar 1/35 Germans from Great
Models.
1/32 scale Mirage III....opinions?09 Apr 2004 00:19 GMT7
I see that the old  Revell 1/32 Mirage has been rereleased in Europe.  Anybody
care to comment on the quality of this kit before I throw my $$$ down?  I'm
especially interested in overall accuracy when compared to the 1/48 scale
Heller Mirage III.
Anyone got an opinion on the R-G Ju 290A-5?08 Apr 2004 22:31 GMT4
I just saw this on the shelf at a local store today. Anybody picked it
up yet?

new Airfix kit reissued?08 Apr 2004 21:51 GMT6
Auster Antartic. 72nd
Picked one up today, nice little thing, looks really old tooling, comes with
skis, floats and wheel option, but only ski and wheels in decal or inst
options, cute little thing, had been selling well.
Plummer Blocks08 Apr 2004 20:12 GMT1
Before I dig deep and buy a new pair has anyone got a pair of ball
bearing plummer blocks in the 3/4 inch to 1 inch (or metric equivalent)
bore size that are gathering dust and needing a new home?

Testors Airplane Glue08 Apr 2004 06:14 GMT11
I have always loved this stuff, I love the way it smells! I like the
way it makes your fingers feel like plastic when you put some on and
let it harded! I like to peel it off, like a second skim layer.
I also like the way it tastes! It tastes like it smells and that is
aftermarket for 1/350 R-G SMS Dresden?08 Apr 2004 05:00 GMT2
Finally scored the kit. I'd appreciate comments on source and usefulness
of any aftermarket. The kit looks nice enough, so I wouldn't mind an OOB
build when/if I get to it, but it's be nice to consider options.
