Ball nosed slot drill13 Jun 2004 20:46 GMT15
I need to machine a square aluminium bar on one side such that it will sit
flush with a 20mm OD stainless tube when placed parallel against the tube.
I am thinking of buying a 20mm diameter ball nosed slot drill (bnsd) and
milling the bar using this to form a semi circular channel ...
Rust ! a reminder13 Jun 2004 20:37 GMT9
Went to my lathe this morning - six month old chuck covered with surface rust,
in less than 12 hours, arrgh !  I only use neat cutting oil & not had any dodgy
chemichals around recently. The reason is the sudden change from hot to cool &
damp weather and resulting condensation.
MVR Hobby-MOVING, NOT CLOSING!!!13 Jun 2004 19:02 GMT9
To all of Mels' suppliers--since I found out the hard way that y'all read this
message board, I'll apologize publicly for something I said that was taken
waaaaay out of context.  Someone had mentioned a good small hobbyshop somewhere
was closing, it was a shame, etc, etc. As an ...
Toothpaste for Paint Polishing Question13 Jun 2004 16:40 GMT8
At a local car show, there was a model car contest. In complimenting one of the
guys about how great the paint finish was on his model cars, he told me that he
simply used a spray can and polished out the paint with toothpaste. He said he
used the basic Crest toothpaste, not the gel ...
Ronald Reagan-the greatest President of the 20th Century! 13 Jun 2004 15:37 GMT80
For the first time in the history of the world, one superpower defeated its
rival without going to war!  The Communist ideology was swept into the dustbin
of history after being completely discredited as a method of governing.  All of
the countries of Eastern Europe were freed as ...
Are foreign kits cheaper in Hong Kong?13 Jun 2004 15:23 GMT6
I've seen Tamiya and Hasagawa kits advertised on ebay that go for great prices.
on average, about eight or nine dollars for a 1/48 Tamiya P-51B.  The problem
is that shipping comes out to be about $18.
My reason for asking is that my wife and I are traveling to China this summer.
Milling vice13 Jun 2004 13:41 GMT4
I am in search of a good accurate, small, plain, milling machine vice for my
new small cnc mill. My existing vice is just a bit big and heavy. The vice
should have jaws about 2in wide, opening 1 3/4in min. No tilt or siwvel is
required so as to save space and help rigidity. I have ...

kit.
Need Johnson Future Wax from the US13 Jun 2004 03:45 GMT1
I'm into modeling too and as you know Johnson Future Wax isn't available in
Europe. I know there are "equivalents" but they aren't the same.
So my question is if anyone is willing to send me one? Ofcourse I'll pay for
every cost made.
B-35 B-4912 Jun 2004 20:52 GMT6
Does anyone know if there is a commercial version of a model of either of
the great flying wings, the B-35 and the B-49, of the 40s and 50s that one
can make.  If not does anyone know of a source for reasonably accurate specs
that one could make a model from?
