Gen Q, armor: RPGs and countermeasures12 Jun 2004 18:10 GMT7
I am in the Pacific NW.  Recently the regional news has been full of articles
about the Stryker brigade now in Iraq.  The most recent news I saw, had what I
think was a Stryker after an RPG attack, the article was about a local death.
Anyway, I'm wondering about a few things.

I recently read that the wreckage of a W.W.II Brewster Buffalo had been
found in Western Australia in 1998. There was a proposal to re-build her
for museum display. Anybody down South know the status of this
proposal??

Seat belt colors12 Jun 2004 03:21 GMT4
This may be a very remedial question that every modeler knows the answer to
but is there listed somewhere the colors of seat belts used in aircraft in
WWII? I have been using masking tape "as is" (because it was handy) for
several years for non-contest" entry models but would like ...
1/10th Scale Subway Train Model12 Jun 2004 03:18 GMT2
Hello, I am in the planning stage of building a diorama involving a New York
City R27 subway train.
The dimensions of each train car would be 6 feet long and 1 foot wide and high.
I was thinking of using some type of plaster.  Once I create a mold of a side
Re Sad News12 Jun 2004 02:38 GMT30
I read this item with some sadness.
It has been with sadness too that I have read some of the ensuing comments. I
am reluctant to enter into a debate the history of which I know little.
However as a parent who lost a 15 year old child very suddenly and unexpectdly
Shizuoka Hobby Show Video at HLJ12 Jun 2004 00:32 GMT3
Hello to our friends in RMS,
HobbyLink Japan is about to try something new, and I'd like to ask for
the help of our modeler friends here.
Since I got back from the Shizuoka Hobby Show in mid-May, I've spent

Some time ago on this NG it was suggested, by John Stevenson, that we should
shun Airy.  This meant no-one responding to any of his posts, under any
circumstances.  Given the most recent outburst I feel we should all get
together and do this.  As several people have correctly ...
Fuel for boiler burner11 Jun 2004 19:09 GMT2
I have just got a model horizontal boiler. It's about 3" diameter and 11"
long with three fire tubes under the shell.
the covers at one  end have the letter S on them, so it's probably a
Stewart.

a three handle/multi blade X-Acto knife set
three different sized razor saws (one was purchased seperate, and the other
two are the X-Acto set w/heavy duty handle)

Feedscrew Problem11 Jun 2004 09:42 GMT3
Whilst fitting the DRO to my Kerry lathe I investigated the source of
the backlash in the cross slide. I guessed that I'd have to measure up
for a replacement feed nut but no, that's been done. It's the
feedscrew that's worn. The nut replaced by a previous owner fits
