Revell F-86D info?10 Jun 2004 05:21 GMT1
Squadron shows two kits- #5960 with the dennis the menace markings, and #
5844 for Sweet Sue. Am I correct in assuming 5844 is the later version with
the drag chute housing? I think Sweet sue is the one I saw at Wal-mart for
cheap.
Vac-U-Form09 Jun 2004 23:41 GMT4
Recently I've started taking up more challenging projects and I'm
starting to feel the need of a vacform machine. I've seen several,
stated as 'working', on eBay. Since I live in the Old Continent, the
questions are:

Greetings All,
I'm seeking any informed opinions about the above listed kit. It looks
like a departure from the same ole stuff.

I came to the conclusion after an exchange of e-mails that this:
http://www.btinternet.com/~steve.withnell/lathe/DSCN2364.JPG
is a 2 Morse Taper dead centre.
Given that the new one the postman delivered today is much bigger,  can

Dark lines on car seams09 Jun 2004 16:10 GMT10
I was about to start painting the body of the Mazda RX-7 model with an
italian red color. I also have a wallpaper of the real thing on my desktop.
It's color is white. Then I noticed that when the car is sporting a lighter
color (e.g. white, red or yellow) the seams on the doors and ...

re: Soviet vehicle ID!08 Jun 2004 22:59 GMT3
Thats a puzzler for sure!  The rear end is wrong for the KV series as they
had prominant transmission covers. Also a KVII had vertical turret sides and
the KVI had a pronounced overhang to the turret bustle, although the side
were tapered upwards.
Help with CD Rom08 Jun 2004 22:47 GMT4
I have a cd-rom disk done on an Apple that indicates it's a CMX File.
Working with our Compaq Presario was useless. Two different places tried to
open it on their Macs without success.
The local Apple store tried without success and said that they had never heard
metals08 Jun 2004 20:41 GMT1
Have bought a secondhand loco boiler. Have been advised that the
fittings should be bronze or gun metal and not brass.
There are two items that I am unable to verify as to material. How do
you identify when they have been machined?
re: 6-pdr Anti tank gun.08 Jun 2004 19:53 GMT4
I'd hazard a guess that the gun was made by Vickers Armstrong Ltd.  This
company was responsible for the majority of artillery produced for the
British army in WWII.  The PS and RS could refer to the "series"  Armaments
were produced in batches referred to as a "series" and these ...

German Hanomag Passenger Compartment Colours08 Jun 2004 19:20 GMT3
I'm redoing a bunch of Matchbox 1:76 Hanomags I made 25+ years ago and
converting them to the C model.  I have access to loads and loads of
pictures of Hanomags, but one thing none of the photos show is the
interior and I'm wondering if it would have been common practice to have

Does anyone know where to get acrylic (or other clear material) rods?
Looking for round, square, triangle or multi sided. Small diameter, like
Evergreen.
Any thoughts where to look?
Pin Vises08 Jun 2004 14:41 GMT24
Ok, let's try and get a thread going that is on topic.  Just why do we need
a pin vises in our toolboxes for?  I ask
because in one of the info packets/booklets that Testor's has at their web
site they recommend it.  The hardware store
