The fiddily bits (C 46)29 Jun 2004 04:30 GMT1
Well I have nearly finished the Bill Bros C46 Commando just the lights and a
bit of varnishing to do then it's done. I think I could have finished it a
lot quicker if I hadn't been stupid and cut and repositioned all the dangly
bits.
Q Revell Honest John and Mobile Carrier28 Jun 2004 22:51 GMT17
Hoping to toss this together over the weekend. Realized the markings for
the tractor trailer combo are commercial. The "history" on the
instructions say Honest Johns were transported to military facilities
knocked down on commercial flatbeds.

X-prize kits?28 Jun 2004 19:55 GMT36
All,
Given the news today about Rutan's Spaceship one actually acheiving
space today I would think there will be some interest in kits of his
ship, the mothership and likely  a few other of the X-prize competitors

Gear cutters for sale or rent28 Jun 2004 14:05 GMT3
I've accumulated quite a large number of B&S type gear cutters, and am
in the process of working out which ones are duplicated.
Those will be for sale for a reasonable fee,
(Reasonable to me, that is <BG>)
Anyone know this KC-97?28 Jun 2004 02:32 GMT4
I had occasion to fly through Minneapolis the other day and while we were
taxiing out to take off, we passed the Minnesota Air Guard facility.  In among
the C-130's was a lone silver KC-97.
Anyone know if this thing ever flies??

Marking HSS27 Jun 2004 23:13 GMT16
I've just finished sorting through some HSS gear cutters. The markings
on some are scarcely legible & I would like to re-mark them before
these details are completely lost. Any practical suggestions?
I've got one of those Burgess/Record type vibrating engravers, it will
1/72 Airfx LCVP D-Day Landing Craft now in US27 Jun 2004 22:25 GMT6
Just picked up the new Airfix LCVP Higgins Boat Landing Craft from
Colpar Hobbies here in Denver.  From previous posts, this is new mold
in 1/72 (not 1/76) and it looks more Heller-ish than Airfix-ish to me.
The kit includes 83 parts, 3 boat crew figures and THREAD for the bow
Airbrushing Mr.Surfacer ?27 Jun 2004 20:01 GMT3
Guys,
I finally found some MrSurfacer 500 and I was wondering if anyone
managed to airbrush it successfully. If yes, how did you do ? Thinned or
not, with what, what pressure, what nozzle size ?

Shackleton 172227 Jun 2004 17:16 GMT1
I'm currently attempting to build Revell's AVRO Shackleton MkIII, I
got myself the kits of war decal sheet so I can build 1722/P, but I'm
having some issues deciding on the colors. For instance, I can't find
the color of the insides of the flaps. According to the decal sheet,
