Traction Engines27 Jun 2004 08:53 GMT11
I would like to build a traction engine in the future (several other
projects to do first) and I'm starting to look at what's available.  There
seems to be a bewildering array of models available from lots of suppliers.
Is there a "buyers guide" or similar available anywhere, either ...

What a pleasure to see Jennifer "Flashdance" Beales as the other
psychiatrist on the plane with Frasier.
Cute in Flashdance but now - oh boy!

I'm finally starting the Contrail 1/72 scale Consolidated PB2Y
"Coronado" kit. It is the only game in town for this big flying boat
since the fabled Rareplanes kit was apparently only released in very
small numbers. I feel pretty safe in starting this vac-u-form. I
Help! Wash crisis26 Jun 2004 23:15 GMT9
I was attempting to apply an oil wash to my latest project, and it
reacted with the paint, removing it where the wash was applied.
Here are the details.....

Just the FACs please26 Jun 2004 23:14 GMT7
I have a question about FAC operations in Vietnam.  When a USMC got a
radio call for help, could he vector in aircraft from all services, or
were only USN/USMC aircraft at his disposal?  Also, did Army ground
troops have the capability to contact any FAC in the sky regardless of
Auto: scale fidelity question26 Jun 2004 22:14 GMT8
For those of you who build automotive models in 1/24 or 1/25, do you
have a preference in scale, or is kit choice decided more by subject
matter or kit quality. And to what extent does the discrepancy in scales
bother you (assuming the kits are to the right scale in the first ...
Chester Conquest Mill26 Jun 2004 16:28 GMT5
I'm pondering buying one of these for incidental hobby use.  Typical
materials will be brass, bronze cast iron.  I can't envisage a requirement
for cutting titanium or hard steels.
Its about the biggest machine I can manage in my garage  and I don't have

We have one of these fly over us every day. I have a Revell model and
some UK suitable markings. Does anyone know the colour I should paint
the interior?
Thanks in advance.

1/72 figure faces...26 Jun 2004 05:39 GMT6
I'm doing a pretty good job overall with my painting and detailing of
1/72 figures, but I'd like to improve the detail of their faces.
Can someone refer me to a site on this, or share some tips with me?
I realize because of the very small size, minimal detail is necessary. I
