Bargains(?) at Woolies.14 Jul 2004 21:33 GMT19
A couple of local branches of Woolies have the Airfix D-day Allied Air
set on sale.  The box contains a Typhoon, Beaufighter, Mosquito and
P51D. The tag claims a thirty quid price halved to fifteen quid, but
they can now be had for a tenner.

Olive Drab - A Thesis!14 Jul 2004 15:36 GMT7
Being new to painting US tanks, I set out on a quest to find the Holy
Grail, Olive Drab 9 in a bottle.  I did search on various forums to
see what people were using for OD, but they usually cite Steve
Zaloga's Tamiya OD choice.

Metric Screwcutting14 Jul 2004 14:36 GMT14
I'm sure I will eventually have some answers for your questions but at
the moment I am in a serious re-learning curve.
My Myford is Imperial so I bought a 127 tooth change gear to get
accurate metric pitches, I've also created a theoretical table of gear

1/72 Bell P-59A/B14 Jul 2004 13:53 GMT2
Just bought a Special Hobby (Czech Republic) 1:72 Bell P-59 "Airacomet"
(sic) at Galaxy Hobbies.  Didn't think I would ever see this plane in 1:72
scale.  ($23.98).

1/48 Italeri F-86E14 Jul 2004 10:45 GMT5
Squadron has an Italeri 1/48 F-86E listed. Is this a new tool or rebox from
another manufacturer? I suspect it might be ESCI's mold.

Edward Thomas - valve gear14 Jul 2004 09:35 GMT5
I am contemplating building a 5"G Edward Thomas, as written up
in EIM. Has anyone in this group built this loco? or know anything
about it? I believe that there are problems with the valve gear,
I would like to know if this is so before starting on the loco.
House of Hobbies in Tampa (Clearwater) FL14 Jul 2004 07:09 GMT5
There have been several posts on rec.models.scale over time about how
great the House of Hobbies in Tampa FL (Clearwater, actually) is, filled
from floor to ceiling with lots of old kits and supplies.  I live on the
east coast of Florida and I wanted to visit, so I called them ...
USAF/USN Paint Colours14 Jul 2004 00:35 GMT2
Is there a site with a list of the standard paint schemes and colour
references for the main USAF and USN fighter/bomber aircraft? I've tried
google but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of specific information.
Thanks
