Armour Painting11 Jul 2004 19:37 GMT1
I've just bought myself an Academy Tiger I (with interior) and would like to
attempt a decent paint job.
To date I can paint neatly but it has always been flat colour.  Whn I look
at more accomplished models I can see that the paintwork is full of shadows

Thinning Acrylic Paint - Help11 Jul 2004 19:30 GMT10
What can I use (that is readily available in the UK) to thin acrylic paints
such as those sold by Tamiya.
If I use plain water I find the water miniscus (sp!) causes the paint to
bead rather than flow.
Wheel Adaptors for Grinder11 Jul 2004 18:57 GMT3
My T&C grinder has a very odd wheel arbour (20mm male spigot with
16mmx1.5 thread) and even the UK distributor doesn't have any arbours
so I'll have to make some.
Clearly concentricity is a key attribute and I can handle that. What
Hub Zemke's P-47B11 Jul 2004 13:37 GMT5
I'm working on making Hub Zemke's P-47B as he flew with the 56th in New York
prior to their shipping out to England.
I have been lucky enough to find a color photo of his plane flying with a
section of the 56th.  Of the six aircraft in the photo only his plane has

A-model Sukhoi Su-26 aerobatic advice?11 Jul 2004 01:21 GMT3
I finally found and ordered an Su-26 kit.  Seems like such a scarcity
of these civilian aerobatics in plastic scale kits.  (why?? IMO they
are the coolest kinda plane of all!)  It is my very favorite airplane.
In 1/72 scale no less so scale matches my Su-32/34 and Su-47 models,
1/72 scale jet aircraft stand needed11 Jul 2004 01:05 GMT5
I posted quite a while back that I was looking for a stand for a model
I was building.  I finished it and A. Van Der Hoek was kind enough to
send a stand all the way from the netherlands.  I used that one for my
Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut, and now I need one for my Sukhoi Su-34 (platypus)
P/E w/ Trumpter LCM(3)10 Jul 2004 22:42 GMT1
the eyes and hands just aren't gonna be able to deal with P/E.
Can someone tell me what those parts are and if the kit can be built
without them?  I'm not a super detailer so if it looks ok from a few feet
away then it will work...
Resin10 Jul 2004 19:37 GMT4
I am looking to create my own resin casts, and have no idea how to
produce the resin, what it is composed of etc. Can anyone help?
Cheers,
Dave
NASA blue?10 Jul 2004 15:55 GMT11
Anyone know what blue might be standard for NASA birds?  Also, what is the
largest a/c painted in their blue/white scheme?  I'm doing sort of a 'what
if'--an aircraft not normally associated with NASA, but would have been
appropo, and I'm wondering if the paint scheme varies enough ...

Jeep and D-Day question10 Jul 2004 00:57 GMT2
I'm currently working on the Airfix Willys Jeep, and it came with D-Day
markings for the 1st Infantry Group. It indicates service on June 6th,
1944.
Would someone please tell me if these vehicles landed that same day,
Small Myford problem09 Jul 2004 22:34 GMT20
I have just bought a myford ML7 lathe, good condition and a very good price,
despite having a slight problem. (Well 2 actually, but I am asking about 1
of them here)
The problem is that the cross slide nut is not fitted or available. I have
