Anyone have spares for Elliot Sturdimill?09 Jul 2004 18:25 GMT6
I've just taken delivery of a Sturdimill 1250, but it arrived without a few
bits, namely the 39T spur gear to drive the vertical head, the draw bar for
the vertical head (the vertical attachment rather than the vertical head
with a quill), the axis drive handle, the horizontal ...
Freelance engineering09 Jul 2004 18:15 GMT14
As I am a qualified engineer and now have my own workshop, I thought that
whilst I am between contracts (I am currently a freelance web developer)
that I could earn something from my own facilities.
I have put an advert in a small circulation club magazine and have already

If you have some blank spaces left over in these categories you could
always second my nominations (if you are so inclined):

assistance.
Mixed Media Kit Question09 Jul 2004 06:13 GMT2
Well the 21st century has finally in my household, I am attempting to build
my first mixed media kit, the MPM HO3S-1. The kit comes with a clear acitate
(?) nose section and it is these parts which are for me problematic. I have
cut the bits out, al la vac form , from the sheet but ...
IJN interior, cowl interior and wheelwell colors?09 Jul 2004 05:36 GMT2
I'm building the Tamiya Zero, and am a bit confused on some color callouts.
The destructions say "interior green" for the cockpit, and "metallic blue" for
the wheelwells.  Well.....  Since we, the Brits, and the Ruskies all have
different versions of 'interior green', I'm assuming ...

Just got in one of my over-orders...the new resin 1/32 GBU-12's and
GBU-16's from Black Box are out, and they look great!
Four weapons each per package, with the proper USN thermal coating.  The
parts breakdown is just like the real thing - fin group, bomb body, CCU,
What kind of sadist am I?09 Jul 2004 04:14 GMT4
Why do I keep doing this to myself?
I've FINALLY finished my first IMC "Battle Damged" kit.  The RF-4C and
_WHOAH_ does it look nice!  Used the battery Dremel to shave the back
side of the "damaged" fueslage, put in a decent cockpit, a couple of
Kosovo/Aviano F-15E loadouts?08 Jul 2004 23:03 GMT8
I'm mostly an armor guy, but I've inhereted a partly built Hasegawa F-15E and a
set of Eagle Strike Kosovo Eagles F-15E markings.
Notably absent is any information about weapons loadouts.
I have access to a decent store of Hasegawa aftermarket weapons, but have no
viceroy taper turning attachment wanted08 Jul 2004 22:51 GMT4
I'm looking for  a taper turning attachment to suit the Denford Viceroy
lathe.
Anybody got one they don't want? (I suspect I know the answer to that-
there don't seem to be many Viceroys about). I've looked on Chris
Polystyrene kit question08 Jul 2004 20:35 GMT4
Not sure if this is the kind of model-making you folks are into in this NG,
(I've only lurked for a little while) so I hope you'll be gentle with me.
I have a shedload of polystyrene kits of spacecraft models, many quite
rare, in my attic, just waiting to be built "one of these ...
Identifying metals?08 Jul 2004 20:19 GMT17
One recurrent theme in this NG and in the mags is how to
identify an old piece of metal from the scrap bin.
ISTR from my school chemistry days that there were certain
flame tests that could be conducted, and also that Tubal Cain's
