Q:Custom made scale models - prices??21 Jul 2004 15:17 GMT3
I want to surprise my husband . He's in military service ten years now, and
for our forthcoming wedding aniversary I'd like to  give him a scale model
of  a modern armour wehicle, or some jet airplane. I've went to store and
find  some nice boxes, with 1:35 inscription on them. What ...

What is the best way to clean up enamel paint off a plastic ship model?
Thanks.
Phoenix 200421 Jul 2004 12:55 GMT7
I need some information about the convention in Phoenix. I want to attend the
convention and participate in some of the seminars.  I do not want to enter any
models.  I am a member of the local IPMS club but I do not belong to the
National group.  Question:  Can I still attend the ...
Lacquer concoction on plastic21 Jul 2004 09:25 GMT4
I just airbrushed a mix of 1 part turp-a-tine, 1 part automotive lacquer
thinner (really hot stuff) and 2 parts regular ol' Testors flat aluminum oil
based enamel.  I airbrushed it as thick as an actual full coat not a dust
coat.  Basically, the thickness of it could qualify as the ...

European air shows.....  Anyone know the model designation of those
aircraft?
I should know, but I don't.   Thanks in advance.   cheers - Jim.
Resin parts for 1/32nd Spit ?????20 Jul 2004 17:58 GMT2
I've looked around and can't seem to be able to find any resin goodies for the
1/32nd Spitfire. There is a PE set and true details wheels but is there a resin
set for the cockpit? I think that KMC put something out a while back before
going under so that is probably a washout. I ...
Revell 1/350-450? USS Enterprise Deck Question20 Jul 2004 17:10 GMT4
Have the instructions here at work, does not mention the scale...
just how well do the three deck sections go together? Dealing with
seams on a
carrier deck is not something I am used to.
8 mm WW collet enlargement20 Jul 2004 13:12 GMT2
I need to open up a 5.4 mm collet to 6.3 mm in order to fit a Jacot tool
attachment to the tailstock of my clockmakers lathe. Can anyone suggest how
this might be done? Is it even possible?

Model show booty!20 Jul 2004 12:27 GMT8
Went to Meter Prods. little to-do today. Good vendors. Scored a 1/32
Revell F-15E, a 1/32 Revell Mig-29 and a 1/144 Space Shuttle for the
unGodly sum of $30. The model Gods must have taken pity as the items I
went to the show to get from Meteor were out of stock.
Airfix Gladiator20 Jul 2004 06:57 GMT28
Still no confirmation on kit numbers, but this is from Air International,
August, 1986:
"The Gladiator II was the subject of one of the very bearliest of the original
Series 1-two bob as they were then, or 10p in today's Monopoly oney-of Airfix's
1/48 scale Voison bomber19 Jul 2004 20:36 GMT4
A few months ago there were adds announcing a kit from Hi-Tech for a
1/48 scale Voison 10 night bomber. This is one of those World War I
birds that looks like a bath tub with a kite attached and a motor bolted
on the back. I have been fascinated by this bird ever since seeing the

Trying to source odd cable19 Jul 2004 19:32 GMT1
I have been lucky enough to acquire (ebay) an ANALOY portable aluminium
alloy identifier in non-working condition and traced one of its faults to a
broken core in an umbilical cable - shortened cable and got it working -
hooray ! However I'd like to replace the cable so it is back ...

last hour to no avail, if I can put my hands on them I will get back to you
