FRARS Wimborne Rally Report09 Aug 2004 14:29 GMT10
As you walk into the site (over 1/4 mile from the car-park- UGH!)
you pass the miniature railway run by the Wimborne SMEE. This is
a 5 inch gauge railway and is fully signalled using solenoid-controlled
semaphore signals. They use reed relays with FG magnets mounted on
Imperial to metric conversion and much more.09 Aug 2004 13:42 GMT4
I came across this nifty bit of software for converting measurements whilst
looking at stepper motors. was having fun comparing the holding torques as
some were in metric some in imperial. it converts length, force, torque and
many many more. I don't know if your already sorted out ...
WTB: Hobbycraft P-36 RAF MOHAWK 09 Aug 2004 12:56 GMT2
The RAF version not the US, purchased decals at the Nats and now need the
kit. I'm looking for the one with the retractable landing gear, not the
version with the fixed gear.
Thanx!
Airfix/Frog collection09 Aug 2004 03:52 GMT10
A friend of mine is thinking of disposing of a collection of 1/72
Airfix and Frog aircraft kits - every package type - every aircraft
since just after the penguin series.  This is hundreds and hundreds of
kits.  Other than him doing the ebay and dealing with dozens of people

Aircraft Rigging Spacers09 Aug 2004 00:35 GMT2
I'm almost done with my Hasegawa P-26, but the scale makes it necessary that I
represent the spacers correctly.
How were they arranged?  Did the rigging go through the spaces?  Did they sit
on top of the rigging?  I cannot tell from the Squardron book.
Sandable Aliphatic Glue like GLUIT from PICA08 Aug 2004 17:21 GMT5
The sandable GLUIT Aliphatic White resin glue from PICA had seemingly
vanished.
The web site says they are "moving".
I have not found a "hard" drying aliphatic glue to take its place but
Revell and Zvezda flankers?08 Aug 2004 13:54 GMT2
I notice Revell has released a new Su-27 Flanker-b and Zvezda an Su-30
and Su-35 in the past few months.  Anyone got a look at these yet, can
offer any advice?
Ken, surely you have pounced on these already :)
Sea Harrier FRS. 1 paint colors?08 Aug 2004 13:03 GMT2
I'm building a 1:144 Minicraft kit of the SHAR, but the instructions
are hopeless. The colors aren't specified more than "blue" and "gray",
and I don't have/can't find any photos I can match the colors to. What
colors would give good results for the top (blue) and bottom (gray) of
Glue08 Aug 2004 08:38 GMT6
I currently have no completed models which were done with super glue.  The
reason is: I once sandwiched a few plastic model parts together with it.  It
seemed like an absolutely ideal bond for a short while.  I let those parts
sit for a few days.  No big deal...  I didn't do all the ...
Question about Kitech 1:72 Aircraft.08 Aug 2004 05:33 GMT3
Saw some of these in the local cheap-and-nasty store today, and they
looked, well, cheap and nasty - or at least the boxes did. Anyone have
any idea what's in them?  Cheap-and-nasty rip-offs, good rip-offs, legit
re-boxings or something really foul?  Thinking of the F117A to do in ...
heller color chart08 Aug 2004 02:41 GMT1
decided to finish my Alaska 727 by Heller, the instructions in b&w have a
color reference section with numbers but I cant find anything that lists
what colors each number is supposed to be, anyone know where I can find one?
Kangaroos.08 Aug 2004 02:35 GMT1
Just a couple of quick questions.
Do the kangaroos face forward or back and are they legs inboard or outboard
on Australian a/c?
B 47s look gooood in Aussie colours....

Although for the most part, I don't really post all that much here, I
thought
I'd just say that for now I will be leaving this group.
What's a Super Adept lathe worth?07 Aug 2004 23:35 GMT2
Whats the value of a clean Super Adept lathe,  complete with face plate,
four jaw chuck,  single phase motor,  but requiring a counter shaft
assembly?  (The countershaft pulley matching the lathe is included,  but no
"motor side" pulley's.)?
