RMS at the Nationals05 Aug 2004 04:25 GMT12
I'm heading for the Nationals in Phoenix. Anyone else? Shall we meet for
beverages and yaks & yuks?
Cheers,
The Keeper (of too much crap!)
Phoenix- the FINAL NATS!05 Aug 2004 04:18 GMT10
Yes the Phoenix bunch will be hosting THE FINAL NATS ever! See they are
way overbudget, completely underfunded, and undersponsored. They will
cause the IPMS to become so far into the red, that it will have to
close its doors!

1/72 Dio items04 Aug 2004 23:21 GMT3
Some time ago I was told that a suitable alternative to 1/72 items was
one of the toy train scales. I'm not sure now, but I believe this was
said to be "OO" scale.
It was also mentioned this scale is primarily popular in Europe (my
Milling Machine Advice again04 Aug 2004 22:52 GMT2
Received wisdom to date:
1. Belt drives produce a better finish than geared head machines
2. Belt drives better for novices,  accidents tend to leave both operator
and machine in recoverable state
Speed Controls04 Aug 2004 21:36 GMT16
Many of the chinese lathes are fully equipped for screwcutting,  but have
lowest spindle speeds of 140 - 150 rpm, which seems a bit odd.  Is it even
vaguely possible that a happy amateur could cut a decent thread upto a
shoulder at this speed?
Xtracylix, first try04 Aug 2004 21:05 GMT4
Got my first batch of Hannants new Xtracrylix paint, yesterday and gave it a
quick test today on the cockpit of my Airfix Sea Harrier.
I have only tried hand brushing it so far but it covers really well, tries
quickly and looks good against my colour chart.
1/32 Bf-109's04 Aug 2004 20:36 GMT2
I just picked up the new Hasegawa Bf-109G-10 kit. Nice, even has a small
set of photo etch by Dragon in the kit. This now gives us the ability to
model all the G/K series in 1/32 scale. Has anybody seen a time table
for a proposed series of 109Fs??

Anyone seen any photos or diagrams of the area between the deck and
pressure hull?

Screw threads and spring in Vibroplex?04 Aug 2004 16:42 GMT2
I wonder what the standard screw threads in a Vibroplex
are, bearing in mind its genesis of 100 years ago?
I imagine that it wouldn't be BA, as this was a Britland standard.
I've sorted through the junk box for this project and have located
Stock import car04 Aug 2004 15:29 GMT3
Anyone know what brand carries the scale model the Honda & Toyota Sedans?
I'm looking for the stock versions not the race or modified types.

Imperial Shim Washers04 Aug 2004 13:55 GMT4
Chaps
I need a source of imperial shim washers (1 9/16"OD) of  to pack out a
bearing in a  housing. I can track down metric shim washers but have
drawn a blank on the imperial sizes I need.
Serves me right for being a cheap-o...04 Aug 2004 09:52 GMT5
I'm in the process of finishing an ICM P-51A that I converted (more or
less) to an early Mustang Mk.I, and after all the surgery on the
wings, guns and ammo chutes I finally got to attaching the fiddly
bits. I wasn't sure whether to attach the flaps and main gear doors in
