Airbrushes--Bottom feed v. gravity v. side feed10 Sep 2004 06:43 GMT15
Ok, here's the deal--I'm trying to find the perfect airbrush, or at least one
that suits what I perceive as my wants and needs, but at the same time, one I
can afford.  I currently have a Paasche VL, which is ok, but to me is a PITA to
use; by virtue of its design (bottom feeder), I ...
(AIR) A-1H Air Force Wheels10 Sep 2004 05:47 GMT3
Does anyone know of an aftermarket set of A-1H USAF style plain hub wheels
in 1/72 scale as the Hasegawa kit only comes with the Navy style wheels and
all the USAF markings require the plain hub.
Thanks for your help

Show X Model Contest10 Sep 2004 03:36 GMT1
Does anyone have information on the IPMS/Will-Cook Chapter Show X model
contest?  Specifically, I'm looking for the registration time and cost.
I see the contact from FSM, but cannot seem to get through.
Thank you.
1/32 DH Hornet & Hispano HA.1112 conversions?09 Sep 2004 23:55 GMT2
ISTR reading mention of an article way back when on converting either
the Monogram 1/48 or the Revell 1/32 DH Mosquito to a DH Hornet. Any
info on that out there? Also, I've always thought the Spanish Me-109s
(HA.1112s) were some BAMFs & I'd love one in 1/32. I know there's a

Question about pilot motors for rotary converters09 Sep 2004 14:01 GMT10
Warning, slightly rambling!
I asked this over on uk.d-i-y but maybe this is a more appropriate group...
I'm finally in the process of getting a rotary 3 phase converter going with
a 240-415 3kVA auto-transformer, a BIG pilot motor (a 4kW 2890RPM Brook
1/24 Airfix Me10909 Sep 2004 12:35 GMT9
Just picked one of these up for £15, am now looking to spend far more on
detail sets ;-)
What sets are available for this kit in the UK please?  (or indeed from
overseas provided the p&p isn't too ridiculous...)
Small tungstens?09 Sep 2004 04:43 GMT16
Does anyone know of a source of small, < 1mm, tungstens (for microtig and
microplasma welding)? The usual sources only seem to have 1 mm and bigger.
Thanks

Humbrol Paint Numbers09 Sep 2004 00:09 GMT4
I have an Airfix kit which shows the colors only by the Humbrol numbers.  My
local hobby shop has some of the numbers in stock, so I could approximate them
with Model Master Enamel (which I prefer), but there were a couple of numbers
missing.  Could anyone tell me the color of these ...
Subject: U-166: A Photographic Record08 Sep 2004 23:34 GMT2
Hi Troops:
I am posting the item below from the ship modelers mailing list.
I must wonder if there are any crew members of the PC-566 still around
and what they think after all these years. There can't be many U-boats
Mild steel bar08 Sep 2004 23:01 GMT20
I am looking for some Mild Steel bar, 1/16" square, but I can't find any. I
have tried O.K. Services (Sutton in Ashfield), Gratton (Derby), Egglestons
(Derby) and one or two other places, all to no avail.
This is for a part on my Lady Stephanie Beam engine. (It is a lattice
f-84G Flaps question08 Sep 2004 21:56 GMT1
Does anyone knows if the f-84g Thunderjet flaps just rotated down, or
did also extended?
I'm detailing a 1/72 Kit and already removed the flaps from the wings.
After some extensive search on the internet, I found two pictures of a
Bronze patina08 Sep 2004 21:39 GMT2
I'd like to get the weathered blue-green-gray color of bronze patina into a
resin casting.
Has anyone done this?  Can you suggest a starting point for pigments, bronze
powder, proportions?
