USS MoHawk07 Sep 2004 05:39 GMT3
There was a  Coast Guard Cutter named the Mohawk
tied up in Wilmington, Delaware, for God knows how
long? She still had .50 mgs in gun tubs when I first saw her ten years ago.
She sure didn't look like a well taken care of ship. Finally she was towed
[CARS] HM Ambassador "Amby" models?07 Sep 2004 05:13 GMT6
Out of utter curiousity, are there any model kits available of the notorious
Hindustan Motors Ambassador (better known around the world as the Amby) or the
late-1940s Morris Oxford upon which the Amby was based?  I'd prefer the updated
Amby but I'm not picky.
Mr. Surfacer Thinner Ratio07 Sep 2004 01:37 GMT3
I finally was able to get some Mr. Surfacer.  What is the proper
proportion of thinner to paint for both the 500 and 1000.  Because the
stuff was so hard to find and I only got one bottle of each, I don't
want to experiment too much, so I thought I would ask here.  Also,

(AIR) Hasegawa 1/72 B-47 #122306 Sep 2004 22:58 GMT1
I stopped at Streete  for the first time in about 4 yrs, just to see if Bob
was still around, and found this and their Neptune, (happy dance). Bob got
them from a modeler's estate. B-47 is missing the right front wheel well
door #35R.
Hardening?06 Sep 2004 22:46 GMT7
Being unhappy with the state of the cross slide on my Myford ML7 coupled
with my preference to work metric I decided to make a metric version of
the lead-screw and replace the mazak nut with a Phosphor Bronze one.
Whilst I can quite easily cut a 12mm x 2mm extenal ACME thread the ...
Amtech 1/32 Airacobra?06 Sep 2004 22:43 GMT4
Never bought one of their kits. Its listed in the Great Models pre order
section.
Is this the company that says its gonna release something but never
does?
Opinions on 1/72 Zeros06 Sep 2004 22:34 GMT2
Which is best these days? I'd prefer an A6M2, but other versions are
okay.

I picked up the latest issue of Scale Aviation Modeller Int. at Barnes
& Noble this afternoon. After paging through it I have to ask, is it me
or is someone over there just plane stupid?  There are several adds in
there with print so small that I get a headache reading them and one

In box comments.

media. Box holds both injection molded, resincast and some cast metal
parts. This is a typical limited run type of molds in that the surface
Restoring panel lines06 Sep 2004 15:06 GMT33
I have two questions I would appreciate your help with.
1. What is the best way to restore raised panel lines? Would blending in
scribed recessed lines work?
2. I have been using a sewing needle in a pin.vise to scribe lines. Are the
Question Interior Colours Kubelwagen06 Sep 2004 14:16 GMT2
An modelling friend made an German Kubelwagen in an all grey colour scheme
(Balkan 1944). What would be the colours for the seating and the canvas (The
old Italeri instructions are not clear on these matters and he hopes for
some other colour then grey).
Viking's color06 Sep 2004 13:11 GMT1
I nedd some help to verify the Viking's color.
In the instructions it says FS 36440 flat gull gray for VS24, VS38 and
VS31.
It seems to be a little brighter than in photos.
