Trumpeter Su-27 Quick-Build Completed!04 Oct 2004 19:56 GMT6
Greetings all,
The huge 1/32 scale Trumpeter Su-27 Flanker build is complete. I did this
without paint and filler so you can see where any problems might lie. Check
it out at www.cybermodeler.com
traffic hazards04 Oct 2004 17:54 GMT2
Fun day!  I'm driving around the Baltimore beltway about 5:30 this
afternoon and here comes a Consolidated B-14 Liberator making slow
S-turns overhead at less than a thousand feet. I damn near rolled the
van! I think maybe she was at the weekend air show at the Glenn L.

Thanks for the earlier comments on the Chevelle Folks, greatly appreciated.
I also build other type of models, this is a vinyl kit i've recently
finished of the Universal Classic monster.

Hammered Rustoleum?04 Oct 2004 14:51 GMT1
All,
I saw a can of Rustoleum "Hammered" spraypaint.  I don't think it means
it's had too much beer!  It's got a "dimply" texture, like hammered steel
maybe?  I figured it might come in handy for modeling so I bought it.
Arc welding electrodes04 Oct 2004 13:12 GMT7
Where does one buy manual metal arc welding electrodes in the UK - in
particular, East London?
The likes of B&Q, and Machine Mart, just seem to sell "Welding
electrodes". Graduated in how thick they are, but no mention of what

Need old Aurora display stand.04 Oct 2004 01:17 GMT5
I have two of the old 1/156 Aurora 747s. I never finished the one I
started as a kid so I am trying to make amends. I want to do one gear down
and one gear up on the stand, but neither kit has the stand.
I want the triangular shaped stand. I'll pay a reasonable price.
Which PE is better?03 Oct 2004 22:57 GMT1
I've seen a review on Armorama on the Voyager Dragon Porsche King Tiger PE
set. It looks very good.
I've also seen pictures of the Lion Roar PE set for this kit.
Which of the 2 is the best one?
Lexington carrier03 Oct 2004 19:51 GMT5
I was looking through my Squadron mailer, and came across a Fujimi
Lexington CV2 carrier in 1/700 scale.
It says in their description this is the ww2 version, so I'm wondering
if this is the same as the one docked in Corpus Christi.
Brunell Engineering03 Oct 2004 19:49 GMT8
Has anyone got any experience, good or bad, of dealing with this supplier.
I was interested in one of the traction engines they supply, but responses
to emails have not been very helpful.  If they aren't helpful when trying to
buy something it doesn't give me much faith of after ...

spitfires? I would be happy to buy or trade for some. Thanks!

Firth Brown harness tester03 Oct 2004 18:04 GMT1
I was given an old Firth Brown 'Hardometer' hardness tester the other
day. Sadly it has suffered from years of neglect, most of which can
simply be remedied even if it will never have gleaming chrome again.
It is short of the guts of the microscope - I reckon I can find a
Avenger II - JZ49003 Oct 2004 13:08 GMT3
Dug out the AM Avenger I started building 4 years ago, intending to use
Aeromaster decal sheet for FAA Avenger II serial JZ490, for no better reason
than I like aircraft with invasion stripes.
I know there is some question as to the exact cabin configuration of FAA
