Figure painting, logical sequence?21 Oct 2004 06:40 GMT4
I have a few larger (1/6) scale vinyl figures now, and I'm wondering if there
is a logical masking/painting sequence.  I normally build aircraft, and that's
pretty much a no-brainer, but on figures with everything exposed, where do I
start/finish?  FWIW, the latest aquisition is a ...

Liquid latex masking problems21 Oct 2004 06:28 GMT5
I have tried using liquid latex for masking, but keep running into the same
problems time after time, so I don't know if it's my technique or the product
itself.  The product is "Incredible White Mask" liquid frisket from Grafix.
It's really nothing more than latex and ammonia.  ...

Need help finding Air Enthusiast magazines20 Oct 2004 20:20 GMT1
I'm looking for some issues of Air Enthusiast - #80 (Martin JRM Mars) and
#110 (C-133 Cargomaster).  Does anyone know of a source in the US?  I can
get them directly from Key Pubs in the UK, but they want as much for postage
as for the magazines.
Bf109 Colour Scheme query20 Oct 2004 20:16 GMT2
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I wish to build a model of the Messerschmitt Bf109E that was flown by Uffz
Paul Wacker in 1940.  The aircraft was on charge to 4/LG2, while Wacker
himself served with JG26. On 30 November 1940, Wacker was flying a weather

Painting cockpits after fuselage assembly?20 Oct 2004 16:04 GMT6
I recently acquired a 1/72 Hasegawa Tojo kit from a deceased modeler
that was quite skilled at building models.  The kit was started with
the unpainted major cockpit items already being assembled and glued
into the fuselage which had also been glued together.  I was wondering

Testing Epson Durabrite ink to make decals20 Oct 2004 11:26 GMT6
Just in case someone's interested...
Epson says their durabrite ink is fade resistant so I decided to test
if it's good to make decals. I printed a solid red area on standard
decal paper, clearcoated and put it on a piece taken from a spare
German armor primer red?20 Oct 2004 04:07 GMT5
I'm looking at some color plates of a King Tiger II and it says that it was
painted with green and yellow over a primer coat of red. Obviously this could
lead to a long thread, but I hope not. Just looking for some opinions and was
there a RAL or similar number applied to this ...
