Hobbycraft 1/32 P-40B = Trumpeter?04 Dec 2004 13:57 GMT7
I saw this one at my local Hobby Lobby yesterday. It was the
Hobbycraft P-40B in 1/32nd scale. Is this the same as the Trumpeter
kit? I suspect it is. OBTW, it was priced at $26.98 USD.

Just receive the Gold Medals photo etch for a Yamato I've had packed up for a
while.  Would like to start it soon.  Has anyone out there heard of articles or
reviews about this kit?  Thanks, Mike Jaros
Pressure Vessel Regulations04 Dec 2004 02:53 GMT7
The amendment to the Pressure Vessel regulations to cover model
engineering is covered, I think, by the paragraph below. This allows
us to build boilers for our own use, but not for resale (if I have
understood correctly).

A-7D colors....03 Dec 2004 21:14 GMT1
Just finishing a couple of 72nd A-7D's, and I'd like to depict them in their
later years...  The Iowa ANG flew them out of Sioux City, for example, in
two shades of gray, wrap around. I've been trying to find the two shades of
gray, but all my reference books (being that I'm so old) ...
Air Brush leaking air03 Dec 2004 20:31 GMT8
My Aztek 320 has developed a leak now that I'm using an air compressor
(3gal Husky). The leak seems to be in the internal part of the brush
and is not related to any of the connectors as they are fine. It
appears to be the valve related to the trigger button on the brush.
Car reference:  "Style Auto" magazine ?!03 Dec 2004 20:07 GMT3
Bonjour,
« Style auto / Architettura della carrozzeria » was a magazine I craved and
spent a good deal of my savings for in my early teens (60's), along with
scale model car building.  Not only were most of the cars masterpieces but
Bummer- new dejanews (google)  format03 Dec 2004 17:28 GMT14
My ISP cannot do a very good job of accessing newsgroups, so for some
time I have used dejanews.  I knew it was bought out by google, but it
remained useful.
Now, however, Google has changed the format, and it is now horrible. It
Vacuum Pump Rating03 Dec 2004 17:16 GMT18
I'm trying to vacuum form a sheet of 0.75mm plastic about two feet
square. My first idea as to why initial results are poor is the rating
of the pump. Its a recon unit with absolutely no markings on it. Does
anyone know how I can test it to get an idea of how much vacuum it
"Spinning Hubcap" Christmas Tree Ornament03 Dec 2004 17:10 GMT2
I'm trying to create a "spinning hubcap" christmas tree ornament for
an event this weekend.
My idea is to buy a large toy truck, take off the wheel and attach a
battery-powered motor through the wheel to a spinning hubcap. Can

B-17 tailwheel well cover03 Dec 2004 07:55 GMT15
Hi. I'm working on Revell's very nice 1/48 B-17G. Could anyone suggest a
material to model the tailwheel well cover? From photos it looks like
leather or canvas. I'd prefer a simple, found-around-the-house solution. I
considered epoxy putty, but I'm not sure that will work well.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry03 Dec 2004 07:17 GMT3
After buying about 10 old Airfix and Frog Hunters, including shelling out for
three at the last swap meet, I read that Revell is coming out with a new mold
1/72 Hunter FGA.9.
