I am putting together material to build the 1/12th scale River Queen from Vic Smeed's drawing. The March issue of Engineering in Miniature, had a pleasant surprise in the form of an article on just this boat.

I just received my new Gateway computer (22" CRT monitor - heavy!) yesterday. I was able to get my couple-year-old Microsoft joystick to work with it and opened the new Flight Simulator 3 (the WWII one) as well as Halo.

I've noticed that there are a number of Workshop Practice Series Books for sale on EBay.Some people must have more money than sense!For example, Number 7 'The Art of Welding' is currently at 12.46, which is near to double the price that you can buy it for in a bookshop!

I dropped a bit of a clanger, offered my old lathe for sale complete with multi-size collet chuck & collets. Never thought about the collets for the new lathe, wasn't expecting to find a chuck to suit it any time soon.
