Curtiss Hawk 75 Twin-Wasp engines25 Feb 2005 18:46 GMT5
Can anyone out there explain to me which Twin-Wasp engines went in the
various models of the Curtiss Hawk 75?  It was with joy that I obtained
a copy of Gerry Beauchamp's and Jean Cuny's book, Curtiss Hawk 75.  It
explained and clarified many things, except the engines.  If you

Workshop software25 Feb 2005 16:29 GMT4
A while ago I downloaded and installed a small programme called 'workshop'.
I still have this programme on one computer, and would like to put a copy
off it onto the old computer I now have in the workshop.
I have tried various searches, but have so far drawn a blank as to where I ...
Newbie Modeler - Painting Question25 Feb 2005 14:44 GMT4
Been years since I have done models and thought I would get back into them.
I am making a 1/35 Zundapp Motorcycle, but not sure if I should be painting
the pieces individually before I put them altogether.  Normally I would not,
but with the bike, once it is togethere I am not sure ...
FW 190A-625 Feb 2005 05:00 GMT9
I wish to build a 1/32 Fw 190A-6.  Is it easier to convert the Hase A-8 or
the A-5?  Where is a good reference site that shows or describes the
differences in the three versions?
Thanks.

Custom sized reamer supplier25 Feb 2005 01:09 GMT14
I need a couple of non standard reamers for making valve guides. 8.04mm and
perhaps 8.05mm. Anyone know of a good supplier?
At a pinch I'll have to ream them out from 8mm with the T&J adjustable in
the short term but the blades for that size are getting blunt and and new
Flywheels25 Feb 2005 00:49 GMT24
Hello. I have been advised to ask a question on this newsgroup (from
uk.rec.models.railways) as it might be more useful for what I'm looking for.
I am trying to find a flywheel of approx. 1Kg weight, with a 4mm diameter
shaft hole. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to ...

Monogram '70s boxes25 Feb 2005 00:14 GMT7
Lately I've been buying kits from the late '60s  & early '70s tha I
built as a kid, mostly for the boxes, but I'll probably build many of
them again. I just got 2 Monogram kits, same kit #, latest date on both
boxes is 1973. One box is smaller than the other & the photos on the

Vacuum Pump Rating24 Feb 2005 20:19 GMT8
Returning to a thread from November, at last I have some vacform
success using an old propane tank between the lab pump and the
platen/table. My teeny pump evacuates the 44 litres tank to 18 inches
mercury in about two minutes and my plastic of 16 inches by 10 inches

These bloody Bridgeports are a tad on the heavy side...
I moved mine this evening with the aid of my engine hoist. And a
crowbar.
I got it "flying", but I could *not* move the hoist by Nigel-power. I
Moving house24 Feb 2005 08:14 GMT8
Has anyone moved house using a 'standard' removal firm and had their
machine tools transported?  I'm thinking of moving, but am not sure if
Pickfords (or whoever) will move my lathes?  Will they view them as
industrial machinery, or move them if they can lift them?
