Recommended Wire Supplier05 Mar 2005 09:02 GMT1
I recently needed some specialist wire (0.1 mm enamelled copper, with
self-bonding coating), and came across The Scientific Wire Company.
Very helpful, fast, and happy to do small orders.  They do a huge range
of stuff, some of which will be of interest to model engineers (e.g,

Has anyone out there had success in registering for the new Hyperscale
forums and if so, could you contact me off line. I have been trying to
join but I seem to be doing something wrong and the watch dog program
will not allow me to register.
Q: How do you make thin wires with Miliputt?05 Mar 2005 01:28 GMT6
I need to make some REALLY thin wires for some masters I am making and
was told to use Miliputt. How is this accomplished using the obvious
"rolling" technique? Can this be done with regular epoxy putty or does
Miliputt have a special "quality" to it?
Max Holste Broussard Colors04 Mar 2005 16:27 GMT5
Some friends of mine here in England wish to repaint a Broussard back into
its original colours and are having a spot of trouble in working out what
the exact colour of the airframe should be.  They have decided to go for a
European based French Air Force scheme, but we cant ...

three million active hobbyists a year for less than...."  I was
stunned.  Three million?  How can that be, are there that many of us

What Glue To Use For Resin Kits?04 Mar 2005 12:35 GMT5
Going to do my first epoxy/urethane/resin kit. (What are they made
of?)
It is A&V Resin 1/72 DFS 346D and then maybe Anigrand XB-43.
What glue works best for these kinds of kits. Any tutorials on-line?

Deep Depression04 Mar 2005 10:47 GMT19
Went into the workshop tonight to saw off a length of aluminium bar on
the band saw, but the band saw wasn't there!  Ater staring at the
stand that it was sat on last night with an impending feeling of doom
I had to face the inevitable conclusion -BURGLED!!!!

CA doesn't stick to paraffin...04 Mar 2005 03:15 GMT1
so one can get those blocks of paraffin in the canning supply section of
the supermarket and use one as a working surface to glue on.  Also, a well-
waxed dowel doesn't get stuck to either.  (I'm so excited I just had to
share.)
