Nose Art18 Mar 2005 20:53 GMT1
I am trying to locate the nose art for the B-17 "She-Hasta", 100th BG, 351
Squadron. My Uncle was the Pilot and co-pilot for that B-17. It was shot
down and he was a POW. Made it out safely though. I am building a 1/144
scale B-17G for his son and would like to have the Nose Art ...
Cleaning Klear from my airbush - UK question18 Mar 2005 10:29 GMT5
I use Klear to give everything a gloss coat before I put decals onto
anything. However, I am not sure what to use to clean the airbrush. I
know that the recommendation is Windowlene because of the ammonia.
However, I am not sure that the current window cleaning products
D-Day/Suez Stripes18 Mar 2005 10:29 GMT9
I am in the process of building a 1/72 Airfix Sea Hawk and am using
the article that appeared in a recent UK mag (can't remember which one
as I tear the pages out) about a Classic Airframes 1/48 Sea Hawk.
Along with the article there was some pain jobs including one for the
Myford Super 7 clutch grease18 Mar 2005 10:07 GMT1
I've got a 1957 super 7 and have just dismantled the clutch to renew the
headstock belt.
The clutch is the early design (expanding sleeve rather than cone) and
contains a set of needle rollers and ball bearings within the cone pulley.
Desert camo B-52s?18 Mar 2005 06:05 GMT2
I was thinking the other day about whether any of the B-52s used
during either Desert Storm or currently had some sort of tan & brown or
so desert camo applied. I know a number of US a/c had tan & brown camo
applied during DS, ISTR the A-7 & OV-10 in particular. If no BUFFs were
Beware the Ides of March...18 Mar 2005 03:39 GMT7
At the very least, run the other way if you're approached by a group of men
in togas. Which come to think of it, is probably pretty good advice on any
given day.  Too bad this isn't a drinking holiday like May 5th.
Anybody able to bring this on topic? Working on a trireme or ...
BEL water slip decals18 Mar 2005 01:25 GMT4
I am new to the group- and maybe this has been discussed before.
Last year I bought 25 sheets of BEL water slip decal paper for laser
printers.
The first sheet I fed into my HP1200 printer tore the soft roller on the
Italeri 1/48 Grippen17 Mar 2005 23:03 GMT5
Just got this kit and in the box it looks beautiful. But as we know
this can be somewhat misleading. I remember what I thought when I first
looked at the F-18E and F-18F, looked good in the box but afterwards,
well you all know what I mean. Anyway does anyone have any experience

Disabilities (EVEN MINOR) and modeling?17 Mar 2005 18:08 GMT19
this is a serious post, don't flame me.
Not to be an a.shole, but I've been blessed with far better than
average eyesight, extremely good eye hand coordination, and
finger dexterity (it's just my typing that sucks!).
Winsor-Newton's Griffin Oil Colors17 Mar 2005 16:06 GMT4
It's been a week since I posted that I would compare W-N's Griffin oil
colors with other oil colors. I threw in some acrylic color too.
The paints I tested were;
