Painting easel09 Apr 2005 01:27 GMT2
I saw this little item in a past issue of FSM.  I decided to give it a shot,
as even though I use relatively low pressure, on the order of 10 psig, I
have had trouble with airplanes being blown off coat-hanger jig I had bent
up to rest plane on for painting. I tried taping the ...

Anyone know a source of 316L stainless? I'm looking for maybe 6 inches of 40
mm dia.
And I'm nearly-but-not-quite skint :^(  , so it can't be too expensive.

Bureaucracy Looming?08 Apr 2005 22:39 GMT26
I was talking to a well-known engine man and friend this morning, who
passed this little gem to me by email. As far as I can see it is
genuine, the The National Jumblers' Federation has a secretary called
Dave True.

Simple jug question08 Apr 2005 18:45 GMT5
Building the tamiya bubble top, and I am stumped at a simple color question.
Kit calls for Zinc Cromate inside the Cowl but I fail to find reference
reflecting this as true. Most kits Ive seen built have a Neutral grey or
darker, throughout the inside of the cowl. and some I see ...

Hope someone can help me out with a supplier recommendation.
I'm looking for some 16swg and/or 18swg spring wire (aka piano wire)
that can be turned into a single turn spring for the VDH I'm knocking up.
My normal suppliers have turned up blank on this one, anybody know of a

Airfix re-issued Denis Fire Engine and London Bus07 Apr 2005 04:03 GMT9
I got these today, two in one box (in the UK at least).
They are in the original bright red plastic which I recall from my youth,
unfortunately, while they provide the basis for WW1 conversions, the 'Ole
Bill' parts are NOT included in the box.  I think the 'military' parts were
Czech Master 1/72 U-Boat interior sets07 Apr 2005 03:10 GMT2
I see Hannants are now selling these (one for control room and one for
torpedo room).  Has anyone here either used them, or know of where I can
read some reviews?  Tried google with no joy.
They (and the boat itself) are likely to go onto my wish list, just
Thick Felt Pad Source?06 Apr 2005 21:50 GMT13
Can anyone suggest a source of thick felt as a sheet?
Soft stuff about 4mm to 5mm uncompressed would be ideal.
I can only find thin craft material or small furnature pads on ebay.
Thanks,
Kind of OT: gluing ceramics06 Apr 2005 16:16 GMT10
I've got a ceramic spoon holder that has a corner broken off of it.  I've
already glued back togeather once with some CA that I have.  But not too
long ago I dropped one of those butane stove/candle lighters right on the
glued spot and it broke once again.  Anyway (other then NOT ...
