| demagnetizing tweezers | 14 Apr 2005 21:45 GMT | 10 |
Over years of constant use, my favorite pair of tweezers has developed a slight magnetic attraction for metal parts. This isn't a problem with brass photoetch, but can be an aggravation when I'm trying to position small pieces of steel wire.

It's sort of On topic, it does deal with a model database... 8-) OK, I don't know quite where to go with this, but I know there are a few Mac users here. I'm working with a model database in Applworks 6. I've got it pretty

| Spits in 1:72 | 13 Apr 2005 21:49 GMT | 2 |
Irony of ironies, the kit that induced me back into the scale modeling fold was the Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX (Special Edition - Aircraft of Aces) Series 2 (02081)- which turned out to be a truly awful kit - bad fit, crap detail, practically solid canopy etc. - the nicest ...

| Another question re the GLR Boiler | 13 Apr 2005 19:43 GMT | 8 |
Well, two questions really. First about the firehole door assembly. The drawings simply say fix to the boiler with 4 x 8BA bolts. There must be more to it than that otherwise the bolts would cause a leak as they go through the pressure vessel ? Should the surround be silver ...

| MicroSol lesson learned! | 13 Apr 2005 14:21 GMT | 11 |
You know the instructions on a bottle of MicroSol? Yannow, the bit that says "Do not touch decal after applying MicroSol, as the decal is now soft and can easily be distorted"? Did you know that Microscale aren't just saying that because they needed to

| So, what's the most interesting thing you've ever found... | 13 Apr 2005 08:06 GMT | 96 |
...while doing research on a kit? Most recently I found that F-102's were used in air to ground combat during the Vietnam War. Didn't know that before, and that the only air combat engagement the Deuce ever engaged

I'm looking to add a Dewoitine D520 to my WWII 1:72 scale military prop aircraft collection. I missed the Hasegawa version on eBay a few weeks back and have only been able to find the ancient FROG and Heller kits on the market since.

| Brass etched figures | 12 Apr 2005 22:44 GMT | 5 |
I snagged a set of 100 1/350 Naval figures for when I get around to doing my Tamaya USS Enterprise and was wondering how one adheres them to the deck? I don't see where there is a tab of any sort at the feet so I'm assuming the simply butt to the deck, yet if so then one would ...
