Is there a common alternative (ie one that I can get from Halfords instead of an industrial oil supplier) to this grade of oil: Mobil Vactra, Shell Vitrea 32. It would be easier for me to pop to Halfords as they are open when I'm not at work. There aren't any oil suppliers

Is it still possible to get these ? I googled in the UK but without any luck, anyone know a UK source (preferably with an online catalogue). I want it for honing HSS lathe tools, what do other people use ? Thanks,

I have Volumes 2(1940-1949) & 3(1950-1959) of this series for sale. These books, now out of production, are super references for Navy/ Marine aircraft markings. They are hardcover & in excellent condition. I'm asking $60.00 for the pair shipped.

| SR71 at San Diego Air Museum | 28 Jun 2005 19:23 GMT | 14 |
this is from memory when I visited 2 years ago, but is the 71 on display the real thing or a mock up? I'm guessing it was not the actual bird as I thought it was much smaller than it appears in books, film, etc....

| Jaguar and sidewinders | 28 Jun 2005 07:54 GMT | 30 |
I've seen photos of the RAF SEPECAT Jaguars carrying sidewinders both under and over the wings. Keeping in mind that there probably wouldn't be a good reason for them to do so, has anyone ever seen a photo of Jaguars carrying sidewinders over and under the wing at the same ...

| Low traffic | 27 Jun 2005 15:32 GMT | 54 |
I had thought that the low traffic on the group was a weekend phenomenom. Maybe lots of folks used their work computer, and were not at work over weekends. However, I only see 37 new messages today, midweek. The traffic in this group IS shrinking!

| Bagder 350 airbrush | 27 Jun 2005 15:24 GMT | 3 |
I took the plunge for my first airbrush and bought the Badger 350-3 today. I'll use it on a compressor instead of the propel can. I got the whole unit at Michaels with one of their 50% off coupons so I paid $27.50 + tax shich I thought was reasonable enough. Seems like from ...

| Decal request: 1/72 scale Spitfire Mk IX - tail fin flashes | 27 Jun 2005 10:27 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone in the UK have a spare set of RAF tail flashes (the red/blue vertical bars) in 1/72 scale for a Mk9 Spitfire? I've mangled mine and don't have any spares, and truth be told, am loathe to get an aftermarket decal sheet just for the sake of two decals.
