Sad news26 Jul 2005 05:35 GMT22
Just heard the sad news about James Doohan. Star Trek's "Scotty".  I'm sure
there are loads of kids out there that grew up wanting to be engineers
because of him.
I hadn't known he had been landed on D-Day with the Canadians.  He took

"Red Baron" Color Questions26 Jul 2005 05:19 GMT10
Hey all,
These topics have popped up on another group.
How many "red" planes (either partially or totally red) was
Richtofen known to have flown?  And what was the actually color of the
Good gloss finishes26 Jul 2005 05:05 GMT20
Although I mostly build military, I would like to try a car or motorcycle.
However, painting these is a lot different from planes or AFVs.
I put down a coat of Tamiya white fine primer, and am waiting for it to dry
prior to starting final painting. How long should I wait for the ...
Why no "War of the Worlds" kit(s)26 Jul 2005 03:20 GMT35
I'm very surprised that no one seems to be doing a kit at least based on the
tripods from Spielberg's War of the Worlds remake. The design is pretty
sweet and I'd think would offer a lot of possibilities as far as interior
lighting, and super detailing. In fact, it's strange that ...

AM Grand Sport Instructions26 Jul 2005 00:17 GMT1
So I made it to the Nats this weekend for a little while and had a
blast seeing some of my old friend and acquaintances.  I could not
enter the contest as I am on vacation at the beach for a while and
thankfully, I've got the modeling bug back.  One of the things I
IPMS Nationals25 Jul 2005 22:44 GMT2
Posted almost all the models that were in the model competition at the
IPMS Nationals in Atlanta last week.  Except for some that came in late,
I photographed most of them.  Cars, Planes, Armor, Space, Figures, etc.
Got about 98% of the entries.
Stent T&C Grinder questions25 Jul 2005 21:39 GMT3
Has anyone here aver built (or otherwise know anything about) the Stent
Tool and Cutter Grinder ?  I've seen some pictures of these and I
wondered if it might make a suitable candidate for conversion into a cnc
cam/crankshaft grinder ?
PE Tools25 Jul 2005 18:30 GMT4
I'm wanting to improve my use of photoetch parts so I've been looking at the
various tools available: Etch Mate and the Hold and Fold.
I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with some information on
either or both of these tools. They seem to be pretty much the same. Is

Can anybody point me in the direction of some drawings of Gauge one

P-63 question25 Jul 2005 13:28 GMT7
Oky, call me crazy, but I'm slowly battling the Hi-Tech P-63 kit into
submission. I'm at a bit of a standstill though, because I can't find
a reference for the intake/vent on the left side above and behind the
exhausts, and just below the carburettor intake.

Went on Saturday - it was great.
Only 15 minutes to get out the car park as well!
