Revell F/A-18E 1/48 and Superscale-Decals15 Jul 2005 03:00 GMT5
I have just received a testshot of this kit to build for a german
modeling magazine.
Unfortunately the decals are not yet available, so I bought
Superscale's new sheet and want to do the VX-9 aircraft with the dark

Clarkson autolock metric/imperial collets14 Jul 2005 20:21 GMT3
Simple question: I've got a 'small' S-type Clarkson autolock chuck wit
the usual four imperial collets: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8". Am
correct in thinking that their 'metric' collet range (6mm, 10mm, 12m
and 16mm) for this type of chuck are in fact imperial on the outside
Backbround check on a "YH" ship kit?14 Jul 2005 18:31 GMT3
Linked below is an Ebay listing for a "1/83 17th Century Sailing Ship"
manufactured by "YH". Any comments on this particular kit, or "YH" in
general? I queried the seller but haven't heard back, & googling this
group & elsewhere has turned up nothing. Based upon the image on Ebay I

Boulton-Paul Corsair "look-a-like" proposal?14 Jul 2005 15:47 GMT3
ISTR seeing a multi-view drawing 'somewhere' of what I'm pretty sure
was a B-P design for a RN fighter & it seemed to remind me of an F4U. I
have looked & looked & can't find it. Anyone know what I'm looking for?
I think it was in a mag or book, not online. All of my Googling comes
Where to buy large dia Perspex tube?14 Jul 2005 08:21 GMT12
I need a small length - just an inch or two - of biggish diameter (5 -
6 inch) clear plastic tube for a low-temperature Stirling engine.
Anyone have any idea of where I might buy some at a sensible price?
Perhaps not surprisingly, the plastics distributors I've tried aren't
wiring a model for lighting14 Jul 2005 08:09 GMT6
This may be a stupid question, but I haven't wired anything more
complicated than a lamp socket replacement in years...
Suppose you have installed a pair of screw terminals inside a model
section, which lead to the power source elsewhere.
RAAF F-111 in camo scheme 1/4814 Jul 2005 04:21 GMT1
i am trying to get hold of some 1/48 RAAF F-111 decals in the old camo
scheme. There seems to be no end of grey scheme decal sets available
and also many special sets for aniversaries etc but how about the old
camo version.

Please Help...

Any spare Bf-110C kits out there.13 Jul 2005 21:30 GMT2
I'm looking around for a couple of (I think Italieri) kits which were
selling like hot cakes in the model shops some while back.
If anyone has an unmade kit they no longer want then I'm willing to
trade money and real Bf-110C wreckage bits!
Testors Metalizer: to prime or not to prime13 Jul 2005 20:57 GMT11
I picked up the Revell Mig-21 F-13 to have a try on my first
post-modeling hiatus all metal finish.  There is actually a camo option
as well in case things go bad.  The kit is coming together nicely.  I
intend to use Testors Metalizer as it seems to be the most forgiving
Way OT - Canoe Building13 Jul 2005 10:37 GMT8
But I know that you're a resourceful bunch so here goes.
13 year old son fancies a canoe (kayak). He knows how to canoe from
Scouts.
I figure that we might kill two birds with one stone and build one
Armour kits - 1/32 v 1/3513 Jul 2005 07:18 GMT4
Recently I started finding out about the wonders of E-bay and purchased some
of the kits I can remember fascinating me from my childhood (that I could
never afford and only appeared out here in New Zealand fleetingly).  The
kits in question include the Airfix range of 1/32 armour ...
