| window frames | 03 Aug 2005 05:13 GMT | 16 |
I'm building a Testors 1/72 B-2 and have decided that I've never had a model that fit worse than this one. Nothing even fits close. Having said that, how can I fill and sand around the clear windscreen and the fuse without goofing up the clear windows? I need to fit the windows ...

| Material Recommendation | 03 Aug 2005 01:46 GMT | 5 |
For a variety of reasons I want to make my own (very small) gear cutters. I have little facility for hardening so hope that it might be possible to simply heat the pre-machined cutters to 'cherry red' and water quench prior to final profile grinding.

I need to buy a small quantity of heat resistant fibreglass adhesive tape (e.g. 3M 361 silicone adhesive fibreglass tape). Can anyone point me to a supplier in the UK or help me out by selling me a small quantity (like 1 ft.)?

As I'm in the process of bringing home my J&S540 grinder (no, I haven't got it home yet -nearly there!) I had to upgrade my lifting tackle. My existing block & tackle was only rated at 1/2t while the grinder weighs 3/4t. I was half tempted to give it a try, but thought

| Atomic Cannon article | 02 Aug 2005 19:46 GMT | 1 |
The Summer 2005 American Heritage's 'Invention and Technology" mag has an article on the history of the cannon. Not the best pics, but decent background on why it was built, problems with firing it, etc... Craig

| old IMC Skyraider 'mystery' solved! | 02 Aug 2005 15:22 GMT | 8 |
I, like a lot of y'all, maybe, have wondered why IMC made an inaccurate "A-1H" kit from the Monogram A-1E. I think I've solved the mystery! I recently bought a USAF A-1E/G/H/J Flight Manual. It has a 3-view drawing of both the A-1E/G & A-1H/J. I thought something looked funny

You'll definitely need to add some detail to the Testors kit. It's a very basic kit, and IIRC it's got more in common with a pre-production machine than an operational aircraft. I've got two detail sets from Missing Link and a cockpit detail set

| Just got the latest "Aviation History" | 02 Aug 2005 04:31 GMT | 1 |
Well, Friday, actually but it has some interesting articles. There's quite a good but short article on the Dewoitine D.520 in WWII. They were in it for the whole war, right to the end. Some info on the British invasion of Syria and Lebanon which I've only heard whispers of
