| painting gear doors on navy aircraft | 07 Sep 2005 20:03 GMT | 5 |
You guys know how the gear doors, speedbrakes, etc. on navy aircraft are usually painted white with just the inside edge painted red. Even with a very fine brush and steady hand, I have a very difficult time painting these well. Anybody have any good techniques for this?? TIA,

| (AIR) Tamiya Tomcat Help Needed... | 07 Sep 2005 19:49 GMT | 6 |
I've been hankering to build a Tamiya F-14 in VF-102's F-14B livery but the price of the "Black Knights" release is - for now - out of reach for me. I understand Tamiya will sell individual sprues of kits and wondered if someone could supply the sprue number for the glove-vane

I need to tap a cast iron chuck backplate with M10 coarse threads and when I opened my box of taps I found I only had a bottoming type in M10x1.5. I tried this but it won't start and is basically powdering the edge of the 8.8mm hole. I'll have to go out and buy one so is it

I've often wondered how (or more accurately, where) you folks display all the models you make. I've seen one or two photos of huge floor to ceiling glass cabinets where someone has stored hundreds of beautiful planes but I have to share my modest living space with SWMBO and a couple ...

| New to this group... | 06 Sep 2005 18:04 GMT | 4 |
Hello, I'm new to the group but not new to the hobby. I've been involved in models since I was a kid, guess I haven't grown up yet. Mostly worked in figure kits and Sci-Fi but I'm feeling like getting into some aircraft and military stuff. Hoping I can pick up some new

| Tiny screw supplier? | 06 Sep 2005 16:12 GMT | 7 |
Hi folks. I hope someone can suggest a supplier for tiny machine screws, nuts and washers. The specs for the part I'm trying to mount (a tiny PCB) say to use 0-80 screws and nuts, but I think M1.4 or M1.5 should be fine as the hole itself isn't threaded. M1.6 unfortunately

| B-24J Liberator | 06 Sep 2005 15:35 GMT | 6 |
Many years ago, I won't say how many but it was shortly after the kit was released, I started the Monogram 1/48th B-24J. In a fit of nostalgia I dug it up from the bottom of the in progress pile and tried to remember what I'd intended to do with it. It would seem as if I was
