I've read advice that suggests that the ideal height of a lathe tool should be just above centre height so that the angle between the cutting edge and the centre of rotation of the work is 5 degrees above the horizontal.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the IPMS Region 10 Contest is happening this weekend in Loveland, Colorado. We will be having a two-day show, Friday and Saturday, at The Ranch complex located near the Ft. Collins - Loveland airport. We have rented an 18,000 Sqft.
