Sherman tracks with no raised chevrons?07 Oct 2005 01:17 GMT5
I'm kit-bashing to build a very early Sherman and I need tracks with
no raised chevrons. I have some old Italeri rubber band tracks, but I
hate those things and was hoping to find something better, such as
individual link tracks. Does anyone sell these as a separate item, or
Whittle Belting (OT in a way)06 Oct 2005 22:27 GMT5
My mother lived as a child across the street from Whittle Belting, Warrington.
A few years ago I found a few references to them on Google but nowadays cannot find any references.
ISTR they were predecessors of Brammer link Belting.
Does anyone know anything on this subject please?
RAAF, RAN, Aussie stuff: What are people  working on.06 Oct 2005 21:18 GMT17
I focus on model aircraft flown by the Australian Defence Forces, Past
and present, be it RAAF, RAN, or Army. This includes planes flown by
aussie squadrons of the RAF etc.
So, just a general interest question. Anyone else out there have an

Suffolk to Sussex06 Oct 2005 12:10 GMT5
Probably a bit late in the day to post this, but I have a trip this
Thursday (6th) from near Ipswich down to Worthing and back, and a
half-empty load space in the Discovery if anyone needs anything
collected/dropped off.
Super Hornet - tinted canopy06 Oct 2005 09:01 GMT4
here's another question for my acutal kit, Revell's Super Hornet.
As the real canopies are tinted and Revell's are not, there is
something to be done about it.
I plan to use Tamiya's 'Smoke', an acrylic, for the purpose.

model shows/swap meets where to find them?05 Oct 2005 23:10 GMT4
So how does one go about finding out where the model car shows are? I
subscribe to Scale Auto Enthusiast, and in the back they have listings
for models shows, but I know they really don't cover all the shows.
Is there an online resource for this?

Hi Troops:
Paid my usual Friday visit to my local plastic emporium and all kinds
of goodies. First I grabbed was the new AZUR 1/32 scale Morane-Saulnier
406C.1 kit. These guys get better and better. 64 injected plastic, 13
Shortening Brammer(?) T-Link belting advice05 Oct 2005 21:45 GMT7
My Boxford has the headstock driven from the countershaft by an
orange-coloured T-Link belt  which annoyingly slips at times.  I've
tested the tension and it seems not to be very tight,  but otoh,  it
doesn't seem to me that wrestling it by hand inside the cabinet is very

Sharpening taps05 Oct 2005 07:41 GMT1
Is it possible for the homebrew guy to sharpen taps? I'd guess so, but how
do you go about doing it?

1/700 Full Hull Ships Wanted.04 Oct 2005 22:25 GMT6
Are there any full hull ships besides Japanese in 1/700 scale? I have
a couple of nice Dragon 1/700 Bismarck and Tirpitz kits. Most others
seem to be waterline.
