I've been asked to make/procure a saftey valve for a Bowman model steam engine. These look like a copy of the Mamod engine from the 50s(?) and has a simple meths fired boiler running an oscillating engine. Can anyone advise what sort of operating pressure these might have been

Can anyone tell me the difference between two Ian Bradley books? At Abe books I can find "SHAPING MACHINE AND LATHE TOOLS" by Bradley, Ian. for £7 and SHAPING MACHINE by IAN BRADLEY for £50. Are they the same book??

I`m looking to buy a "hobby" lathe; and I`m stuck between 2 suppliers, Warco and Chester UK. The 2 lathes are 920 from Chester, and WM-250 from Warco. Could anyone please give any advice, or constructive critisism on either lathe or supplier.

I'm gettin tired of Ebay snipers coming in with less than 5 seconds left to bid and smokin my high bid by 50 cents or a dollar. I lost a 1/48 AC-130U tonight with less than 5 seconds to go by a buck by some sniper that didn't show up til the end.

Picked it up today-at WalMart,apparently they sell Campbell Hausfeld,the whole side of the aisle was nothing but!,3 sizes of compressors,a lot of accesories.Never thought I'd find a good size compressor there,but,now,I'm rarin' to paint!.
