Revell P-47 in 1/32 Scale:::Help!24 Oct 2005 16:30 GMT3
After a 20 yr hiatus due to college, Air Force and family, I am finally
getting back into the hobby I grew up with - modelling.  I kick myself every
time I think of the models (finished and unfinished) I let my folks toss
away because they didn't have storage space.  I can still ...

College  Engineering gear hobber castings set24 Oct 2005 15:21 GMT21
Has anyone here built up the castings set for a gear hobber that's
available from College Engineering ?   I heard that it's an improved
version of something called the Jacobs hobber which I've seen described
as "flimsy" and I'm interested to know if the CE version is better in
[Car] Scale question24 Oct 2005 14:54 GMT5
How the hell did we end up with 1/24 and 1/25 scales?  Was there one
company that decided it wanted to compete against another for all the
marbles and the fallout was 2 scales that are close?  There's got to be
a good story behind this.
What glue or adhesive will bond fishing line (nylon?) ?24 Oct 2005 13:37 GMT18
What type of glue or adhesive will bond monofilament fishing line?

line to another, and not simply form a hard shell around the strands
where they can still be pulled through after the adhesive cures.

tell me what the relevant criteria are regarding tooth pitch and
diameters etc ?  I will mainly use them on ms using a Warco VMC so I

accurate miniatures24 Oct 2005 01:01 GMT7
It would seem from the disappearance of the very short lived accurate
"update" site, that the current holders of the AM company were
truthful, and the former holders were not.
I have a few questions.

Academy1/32  F/A-18C Leading Edge Slat Gap23 Oct 2005 21:52 GMT1

wings are modeled as folded.  Has anyone separated the slats just to get a
better looking gap?  If so, how did it look?  It looks like the gap would be
around 1 scale inch but it may be possible to fudge it ...
Then and Now- How modeling has changed23 Oct 2005 20:53 GMT35
Starting a new topic with the question- how has modeling changed over the
