Flat Black again30 Nov 2005 18:43 GMT25
Some time ago I asked about Black color - I was looking for black that is
more 'flat' than Pactra black. I have bought Humbrol and Modelmaster flat
Blacks - they're both pretty much the same 'flat' as Pactra (big
disappointment). I mean all three paints shine like plastic.
Hull shells for great lakes ship models?30 Nov 2005 14:53 GMT1
Hello all.
I'm looking for a source for a great lakes bulker hull in 1:160 scale,
although anything between 1:220 and 1:144 would be suitable. A larger
scale canneler might also work.   Something close to a 640' or 730' hull
separating etched metal parts fr. fret29 Nov 2005 20:08 GMT12
is "fret" the right word for the frame holding the etched parts..?
I am interested in your methods of removing the parts from the frame.
up to now I still use my NT-cutter for the job, often breaking off the
tip of the blade.

New Airfix Canberra29 Nov 2005 13:01 GMT32
Haven't seen it mentioned here but Airfix showed a really nice 1/48 Canberra
at the UK Nats in Telford. Also had a very nice 1/72 Nimrod.
Airfix plans to do four versions of the Canberra, probably for release in
late 06.

One more modeling related Disney post.
If you have not been to Disneyland for a few years you may not be aware
that the Submarine Lagoon has been vacant for years.
Just a few weeks ago guests began to see increasingly obvious activity

Disneyland for Thanksgiving was great, except for the crowds.
Great dinner at La Brea Bakery, one of the fourteen venues serving
variations on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Outside under the heat
lamps, perfectly done turkey, cranberry dressing, pecan pie for dessert

Soluble oil29 Nov 2005 01:48 GMT14

Telemecanique 3-phase varispeed inverter?28 Nov 2005 22:09 GMT2
I have a question about running a 3-phase inverter off single phase
supply. It's to simplify speed control of a thingummyjig at the local
pottery.
The impression I have is that some inverters don't mind up to a point,
