Pavla Decals- Sparviero SM.79 Racing Damascus Paris Race.30 Dec 2005 05:38 GMT3
Where can I find Pavla decals on the web?  Pavla makes a conversion kit
with decals for a SM.79 Sparviero which turns it into the racing version
that competed in the 1937 Damascus Paris air race.  I really only want
decals with mice on them.  Any online sites have what I'm ...
Plastic Bugs and Nylon Stockings30 Dec 2005 05:33 GMT14
After reading all the posts about the Plastic Bugs eating those parts
as they hit the floor, I vowed it would not happen to me again.  That
didn't last long.  A very tiny part hit the rug yesterday afternoon and
after searching for 15 minutes, I remembered reading something in FSM
Is there a "better" company for WWI aircraft?30 Dec 2005 04:35 GMT10
Considering a diversion into pre WWII aircraft.  Is there a company I
should focus on for kits?  I would like this to be a fun diversion, not
spending days scraping flash, etc...
Where to look?
Flat Black for the last time30 Dec 2005 01:19 GMT10
Finally I managed to get a Tamiya XF-1 bottle. It turned out that it's much
more flat that the paints I used before.
So to sum up me "flatness research":
Pactra / ModeMaster / Humbrol flat black is about the same level of flatness
F4F-4 & FM-130 Dec 2005 00:35 GMT8
I understand that the basic difference between the F4F-4 and the FM-1 was,
other where it was made, the deletion of the outer pair of guns from the
wings.
Is this right or is there more?

What do you think of this Hyundai lathe ?29 Dec 2005 17:15 GMT10
This Hyundai lathe seems to be a little less than I would pay for a
good Super 7. although the postage is 100 quid !

Wobbly hands cure?29 Dec 2005 15:11 GMT12
I read somewhere that if you have wobbly hands that tying a weight to your
wrist can help.
Has anyone every tried this?
Seems like a good idea - like a motion damper
Found It! ...... My old Auto World Hot Knife29 Dec 2005 03:45 GMT2
While I was looking through some old boxes of parts on a kit bashing
mission, I found my old Auto World hot knife and an old Auto World
Catalog.  The prices in the catlaog  look pretty cheap and there are
some kits I haven't seen in ages.  Wonder if I can mail in an order (:>

Ambulance Colour28 Dec 2005 21:51 GMT10
My last query of the old year.
I've almost got the RPM kit of the Ford Model T US Army Ambulance to the
point where it needs to be painted.  The instructions recommend Humbrol 102
for the overall colour.  Does anyone know if this is a reasonable match for
Cutter grinding28 Dec 2005 21:48 GMT12
I have a friend who has built a Stent cutter grinder.
He has trouble when grind up the flutes of an endmill as the force of the
stone tends to lift the cutter of the support/guide finger.
Seems obvious to rotate the wheel the other way and keep the tool on the
Bent Casting?28 Dec 2005 19:18 GMT2
I'm in the process of fitting the new motor I got from Tim Leech to my
grinder, and as it is a bit larger than the 3-phase one that came off I
have had to add a extra support bar at the back of the motor mounting
plate so that I can bolt the new one down.
