| Seeking two materials - ideas? | 20 Dec 2005 18:53 GMT | 9 |
I'm quite new to this model making thing so please excuse my ignorance! Any help appreciated. :-) I'm struggling to find sources for two materials I need for a project. Any ideas? 1. I need a few lengths of flat spring, about 20cm x 1-2cm wide, which

I'm not in the 3 1/2" circles, and I have this for disposal. (Inherited, not made by me) There is a running chassis, a part-built boiler, copper to make up the rest of the boiler, and a set of ME (c1955) covering the

| 4-facet drill question | 20 Dec 2005 08:42 GMT | 2 |
If 4-facet drills have all the touted advantages (truer holes, closer to size with lower drilling forces) then why aren't normal shop-bought drills supplied like this ? Cheers,

| X2 cnc conversion | 20 Dec 2005 07:02 GMT | 6 |
Has anyone done an X2 conversion? An improved dog implied that a cynical trader was in the process of, but that was some time ago. The table seems straightforward, perhaps with an extended table from AET, but the problem is the X-axis, which on the models I have seen has at least

| Priming before using a metalizer | 20 Dec 2005 06:58 GMT | 12 |
I am about to play with the testors metalizers with my airbrush for the first time and I have a few questions. Do you use a primer coat before spraying the metalizer. Does the primer coat need to be a gloss, semigloss or a flat?

| OK Guys, How much did we spend on models this christmas? | 20 Dec 2005 04:49 GMT | 30 |
so did we all spend more on ourselves instead of our SO and or family? I was good this December only ordering the 1/32 A-7 Corsair and the 1/72 Gato. I may go off the wagon though as I brought my Squadron flyer to work

| Possible free news server just for modellers | 20 Dec 2005 02:57 GMT | 1 |
I have been watching the problems people are having with their ISPs dropping usenet access. People have suggested a few options which generally cost money. I might have a better option if people think its a goer.

| Opinions on Special Hobby 1/72 Hawker Tempest Mk II | 19 Dec 2005 22:27 GMT | 11 |
The title says it all really. I haven't been able to find a review on the usual web sites (maybe my goggling skill are not good enough). Being Special Hobby, I realise that the kit is going to be limited run quality but does the kit include any resin, etched bits? How do the kit

| same hole again | 19 Dec 2005 17:02 GMT | 8 |
I need to drill and ream a 4 mm dia 55 mm deep hole in Inconel X-750, which is hard as something-or-other, a lot harder than even masonry nails though, or perhaps just plain tougher as well, though it can just about be machined with newly sharpened HSS tools. Mind, I lose about ...

I've used Gunze's gun metal, but feel that the flakes look unnatural.. it still looks like painted plastic. How should I be painting a 1/1 replica pistol?
