Grumman Tiger by Fonderie Miniatures17 Dec 2005 02:07 GMT2
Hi Troops:
I found the promised 1/48 scale FM kit for the Grumman F11F on the
shelves of my local hobby shop today. This fills a gap in the line of
Grumman fighters and I bought one. Not cheap by any means- $75.99 list.

Twin Merlin a/c other than Mosquito?16 Dec 2005 06:28 GMT16
A buddy of mine was talking to a co-worker (he's building satellites at
Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach now- loves his job) and they got to
wondering if anything other than the Mossie flew with twin Merlins- the only
thing I could find was the Westland Welkin high-altitude ...

Everyone,
I've been trading kits over the Internet for almost ten years.  For the most
part I have traded via RMS once or twice per year with no problems.  But as
our numbers at RMS shrink I also trade at Hyperscale.  I do this for the

Boring a deep hole15 Dec 2005 18:37 GMT8
I'm trying to bore 2 journals in a cast iron part; the journals are 1 3/4"
but badly worn; I intend to bore them oversize and sleeve using Aluminium
Bronze to restore the journals to their nominal size. I have a boring head
for the mill that takes a 5/8" boring bar but the problem ...

Eric Smith had 20 points to lead Campbell to an 86-80 victory Saturday
over Mercer. With 3:23 remaining in the second half, Smith hit one of
his six 3-pointers to cut Mercer's lead to 78-74. That shot started a
15-2 run by the Camels in which they hit six of their last seven field
Bending Metal15 Dec 2005 14:27 GMT2
I recently bought my first photo-etched detail set (P-47N set from
Eduard). I was wondering what the best way of getting a nice sharp edge
was. Also, does the metal take paint well (brushed), or does it need to
be primed?

I used it and now its pretty gooey. Still liquid, just, but very thick. What
could I use to thin it back to its working consistency?
Advice appreciated.
Blue Angels F-14 & A-7?15 Dec 2005 09:19 GMT11
ISTR a magazine article some time back that mentioned the F-14 & A-7
were considered by the BA at one time. I was wondering if anyone's ever
seen any drawings of those a/c in BA markings. I vaguely recall a toy
F-14 in WalMart a long time ago that was in BA markings, but never paid
