You build a model in a "special" one of paint job for the decals that came with the kit, your paintwork is beautiful, your glosscoat is smooth as glass, and when the decals hit the water they shatter into a million fragments leaving you with a "one of" model that you

| a CNC build question | 04 Jan 2006 02:41 GMT | 9 |
I have to decide in what circuit to build in the Emergency Stop button. There seems to be a choice between two positions: A) direct in the mains power supply to the CNC control box which kills everything, or

| Trumpeter 2006 Release List | 03 Jan 2006 23:16 GMT | 28 |
Amazing how things have changed. A look at the Revell website shows just a few ships in their inventory, with the newest one around 40 years old. The old guard is fading away. I can see around $1000 of my salary going to Trumpeter next year......

| Making White Lettering for Decals | 03 Jan 2006 08:27 GMT | 6 |
Does anyone have a workable technique for making white letters on an inkjet printer? My best guess it to put a very thin line of some other color around the letter, print it on white decal paper and trim it up. Is there another workable techinque someone might have come up with?

| weathering | 03 Jan 2006 02:33 GMT | 6 |
I occasionally like to build the odd Airfix/revelle aircraft kit. Have always wondered how to get that authentic used look to the finished article. I am about to start work on an Airfix 1/24th scale stuka and would like advice on making it look weathered. Anyone?

| Polishing Cast Iron | 02 Jan 2006 10:00 GMT | 1 |
I just bought a whole bunch of back issues of ME magazine and came across an article that mentioned polishing cast iron castings as an alternative to a painted finish. Advantages quoted were freedom from the finish chipping off.

| RAF colour question. | 02 Jan 2006 05:45 GMT | 13 |
I'm in the middle of an Airfix nostalgia attack, building kits that I haven't made since the 1970's. However, there's one thing that's bugging me and that the colour of the paint that's suggested for the underside of the aircraft. Currently, it's beige green. I'm sure that back in ...
